This week alone I've been chatting to 4 different people. 2 couples 2 singles. All seem lovely people. All getting on seems like similar interests. Then the face pic question comes up. I'm happy to share when I think a meet is possible. Don't want be sitting in a pub or coffee shop waiting on someone when they could be sat beside me.
So anyway I've been asked and I've shared my most recent face pics. So out of 4. 3 have blocked and 1 has just not read. This site really messes with your head. Not your type fine say that. Blocked with no reply after exposing your self just seems off.
Yes I'm feeling sorry for myself |

"Feels a bit brutal doesnt it. I hardly ever share a face pic now, but realise that does mean I wont be meeting anyone "
Sad thing is it feels like a trust thing. Even if it's a no thanks. I can accept that. We have to like someone but a block is soul destroying |

Hugs sorry. Obviously, I don't have that particular problem. My public photos are PG...if they want to see my private x-rated photos they have to put in more effort. If they want to know what I'm like sexually, they can read my verifications.
I don't really invest my emotions until I have secured a meet whether social or sexual.
I understand that a lot of people get excited from the messages and the expectation of meeting and all the potential fucks that you can have.
My neurodivergent brain doesn't work like that. You are not real unless in person, I can see you, hear you, touch/feel you, smell you and taste you.
So I keep things neutral for my own sanity until we actually start kissing with the intention of fucking.
Your body is hot and that's usually enough for me. If you are doing it right, my eyes will be closed most of the time. Lol! |

I’ve had women say that I’m not their type or they’re looking for a guy with a beard. That’s understandable. You gotta have that initial attraction. I’ve turned down someone cos they weren’t my type.
Wish they’d explain why instead of not responding after a face pic but they made their mind up |

It's childish and pathetic to just block. It's really not difficult to say sorry you're not what they're looking for. It's an adult site!
Don't let their childish behaviour get you down. It's a lucky escape, you don't want to meet people like that. |

People can block, people can stop messaging, people can pretty much do want they want on here.
But it's never nice to be on the recieving end. So I'm sorry for that.
People on here, unless you've met them, regardless of how long you've chatted are just a stranger online, they don't really know you, don't let their opinions bother you.

Do you mean someone told you that they're not into you so you blocked them? That's ok. It saves you from forgetting and contacting them again. |

It's horrible and hard not to take it to heart. You have to remember that people make a split decision when receiving a picture, it doesn't reflect on who you are as they don't know you really. Also, people immediately think it's for a bad reason but sometimes it's nothing to do with the other person, their own confidence could stop them taking things further.
Don't let other people's preferences dictate your self esteem |

I must admit I don't share my face unless I've been talking and as such looking to meet. I live on an island and as such a small community (65k people). Everyone appears to know everyone here so privacy is really important. Unless it's someone further afield ie UK then I refuse to send a face pic with the first message and state as such on my profile.
Yes I've had rejections before after a face pic but I hate when they don't reciprocate even if it's a no and we'd agreed to. My privacy is no less important then hers as it were.

Ouch. Easier said than done but I think you just have to have a super thick skin on here. I'm probably attracted to about 1/100 guys I see on the street so same goes for here, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the people we don't go for, attraction is just fickle. If we're going to join in superficial sites like this, Tinder etc I guess we just need to suck it up if we don't get picked sometimes. Sorry |

Honestly, nothing means anything on here I’ve learned. I’ve had a guy I was messaging just friendly for near enough 2 years. He offered to meet me to walk me into the Newport social a couple weeks ago. Never showed and then blocked me. Couldn’t have seen me first as I was in my car and walked in alone so that was weird.
Also had guys I met at the social flirt with me and message me after but then I replied and they leave it unread or deleted it.
Could easily let things like that bother me but my confidence is building and I’m not gunna let silly people who don’t have the balls to say what they really want to say to my face knock me down.
There’s plenty of incredible people on this site, it’s just a case of finding the right ones |

Sorry to hear about that- I’ve had several similar experiences and I would be lying if I said they didn’t knock my confidence. My advice would be to share a face pic as early as possible (assuming they are looking to meet). It’s a risk for sure but at least you won’t waste as much time. |

Aw no, it wasn’t gunna be someone I meet with one on one. He’s just very known on the clubs/social scene was helping me get to grips with everything. Made out he was a nice guy and turns out he’s not haha

Would it be better if they actually said you're not their type when simply blocking is pretty much saying that anyway?
It's hurtful either way. I won't get drawn into lengthy conversations until I've seen a face pic. It's not worth investing the time if either of us are gonna find out down the line that we aren't right for each other. |

I just deny it was me and move along. Lol! My privacy means very little to me and I used to live on a small island and I hated the "secrets" when everyone knew and just pretended like they didn't. the worst secrets there were ch^&d Ab()$£
It just fucked up my already fucked up mind. Beyond personal safety and security, I don't care if my job, neighbours or family know. I don't see them looking after me when I'm sick or paying my bills or cooking my food or washing my clothes so they can mind their own business and their own privacy and their own sex lives.
That's why I don't do cheaters. I'm not sneaking around. That's too much for my brain. My colleagues know I'm on Tinder so OMG they know I date and have sex! lol! Don't most people over 18...and quite a few under 18 are at it. I'll never understand it. But that's just my neurodivergent maverick brain. |

Mind you the biggest challenge here is more getting women to chat! Understand why not though
But that's just my neurodivergent maverick brain."
Totally understand and yeah there certainly seems to be a dark side to living on an island despite it looking wonderful from the outside |

"This week alone I've been chatting to 4 different people.
Yes I'm feeling sorry for myself " awww hey have a beer |

"I would always say after seeing a face no thanks. Then that shows closure and being an decent human being."
A humane way of dealing with closure?
How sweet! |

OP, it's probably an embarrassment thing with them. They don't want to hurt you, so they block you, it saves them from having to man-up, be brave, and say "thanks but no thanks".
In my 30's I was really good looking, no honest I was!, but I'll rarely show my face now, and I HATE mirrors! |

"In an ideal world people would say you're not for them before blocking you ,it doesn't do self esteem much good .
Could it be that any of them knew you op?."
That's what always concerns me.
Anyway I'm over it now. No more face pics first. For all I know they could be shreks look a like or maybe they thought that of me lol |
