Or like me, do you wake horrified at the idea you have to do the same job everyday and you cry during the journey you make to endure the job?
Are you lucky to like where and who you work with? |

yes I like my job
commute is a pain but like what I do
a few years ago I felt like how you described and I literally cried on the way home some evenings.
took a while but got a transfer and new role.
I think you need to enjoy what you do.. New year = new job? |

"Doesn't excite me. Work to live. "
Work to live?! This is what we should do isn’t it? That sounds perfect…. Wait a minute? Who bestowed that idea into the publics mindset!!!!
I just want to live!

In the middle of it. good for you, some stay far too long in places they literally hate. You have to take your own advice sometimes do t you? |

I quite like my job but no it's doesn't excite me.
I've been in your position before where I hated a job so I ended up leaving it and getting another job in a different sector. No job is worth that feeling of dread every day you have to go in. |

"Hate it. Quitting in 2023 and counting down the weeks "
That countdown is going to be so much easier to bear though isn’t it?
I’m planning on quitting mine in 2 weeks. Currently trying my best to get something in place.

The only thing that exciting about work is the lovely ladies in reception and when my day is over. |

"I like my job, the people I work with and even my customers.
Not always keen on the company I work for though…….. "
The people sometimes make it the best place to be. I’ve been there, and when they left, it’s not the same. And I then needed to leave.
People are cool. jobs can suck. |

I’m not jealous at all. . Good for you, plough everything you’ve got into the those first couple of years, you won’t regret the effort you put in. |

The answer is no..... This is why I always look forward to a new job. I start one on the 3rd January and I will do it until I find something else with more money. Trading time for money, you need to enjoy what you do or move on. |

I love my jobs, I changed careers 20 yrs ago and it was a struggle after being made redundant. I am a self-taught programmer and have learned enough not to struggle any more. I do work with fun people which is great. |

I have done the same job for the last 8 yrs - it’s stressful hard work… but it’s great pay, stable, great colleagues… I work on some the biggest projects in the world and every day is different.
I guess what you are at a certain point in life and have dependents and the world is going to sh*t around you… and it is paying very well… sometimes you have to stick it out till something better comes along |

I am very fortunate to have worked in jobs that I have enjoyed and with good work colleagues (for the exception of a few c****).
There are days when I would rather stay in bed lol.
I am semi retired now and have a part time job that I really enjoy and work with some really good friends (except for a few lazy tw***). |

I'm not sure that I would say work excites me, but I do enjoy it. My job is varied and interesting, sometimes fun and very rewarding at times.

Work doesn't exactly excite me, but I'm good at it, I like my colleagues on the whole and I'm respected. I also work part time so have a fabulous work/life balance. Plus I'm paid well, have a good annual leave amount, and flexitime.
I found working from home difficult at first and considered leaving for something more worthwhile, but I'm content for now. |

After 35 years of working I still dread my 4.40am alarm and hate the fact I'm away from my home for 10 plus hours a day |

My previous jobs have been exciting. Some far more exciting than I planned, but interspersed with long periods of ho hum. I do miss it all though, and have never really settled. My current job doesn't excite me but it's still a pretty good job. I'm happy with it.. |

Today is invoicing and I hate that! |

I started this year as an archaeologist, and it has been the best job I've had. Physical work to make you feel good, finding amazing historical objects. I love it. It's been a long journey to find that job though... |

I love my job and in the 14 years can count on one hand how many times one of my colleagues have pissed me off. Safely to say they've left!
This is the first time in about 7 years I've been on leave between Christmas and New Year, feeling a bit lost haha! |

I love what I do. I don't always enjoy the company or team I do it with. The possibilities excite me, the day to day grind does not, but I still enjoy it.
I'm fortunate that I can move companies very easily; I have a good enough network that if I start looking for a new opportunity I know they will come my way.
I can't imagine spending a quarter of my time somewhere I loathed, doing something I loathed doing.
Sympathy to anyone who finds themselves in that situation, and I hope you can find something that you can enjoy a bit more |

It doesn't excite me but I'm happy going to work. I was unhappy at the start of the year in my job so I made changes.
Life is too short to be stuck in a job you dont enjoy. |

I consider myself lucky to love my job.
I stumbled on it when I lost my old job after 8 years at the start of covid - best thing that’s ever happened to me
And as of this month I’m part of the Senior leadership team so things will get even better now |

I completely know where your coming from. My job would be great if it wasn't for the customers.

I literally went through a phase like that where I'd actually cry on my way to work. Ended up signed off work with stress for about 4 months which was a shocker for someone who never even took sick days. Was nearing the end of my phased return and dreading being back in the office full time when the lockdown started. I've worked at home ever since and that's the only reason I've been able to stay on. Can't stand office politics so being able to work at home has been my saviour
Hope things improve for you or you find something better OP

It has it's moments. Work has taken me to parts of the UK, Ireland and Europe which I would of never seen if it wasn't for the job I do. The downside is it can get very miserable staying on my own. |
