The movie thread we had was quite popular, I was wondering if anyone enjoyed a movie then was excited about the sequel and thought it was terrible ??

For me it was First Blood as it had somewhat of a plot. Part II was dire!

The way it all ended was interesting but sometimes squeals don't live up to things. Stalone is a moneymaking machine and if it worked for him then you cant fault that but it was DVD not multiplex viewing for us.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Highlander - brilliant

Highlander 2 - hotly anticipated, but dire and contradictory

Agree, the third one was ok, but the fourth, bad idea.

Have to say two sequels that were poor. Lost boys 2, the new tribe and the Italian Job uupdate. Stick with the original and leave well alone

Leathal Weapon sequels were pretty dire,

as were all the Matrix sequels too .

Hate it when they try to cash in on the success of one production by rushing out a half assed sequel .

this desease had also spread tp TV shows too . Hero,s first season was outstanding , totally lost it season 2 onwards , as with footballers wives, Lost etc

Jaws and Jaws 2 were good, but didn't enjoy Jaws 3 ... same with the Halloween films

Flipping it round, what about when the sequel turned out to be much better than you might have hoped? Godfather 2 was one of those rarities.

Bad Boys 1 and 11 both excellent with a third in the pipeline, Will and Martin are just excellent as a cop duo.

indeed, it was a DVD for us, not many films I'll go the flicks for these days to be honest, although I'm thinking of going to watch Paranormal Activity at the pictures, that looks well scary.

Agree about DVD's - with Plasma TV's and 5.1 sound, it's often worth waiting.

If you're not sitting in the middle of the cinema, you start to lose either viewing angle, sound quality. Plus eejits around on mobiles, rustling food they don't need and slurping gallons of tartrazine-loaded drinks.

And that's before you get into Blu-ray...
