Saw Oasis at Hackney Town Hall on one of their first London gigs. Not a fan later but they were very good that night.

Police at Top of the Pops in the 70's.

They weren't even in the charts. They were last on and just recording them playing.

Most people just walked off as nobody knew who they were

Not all that North of North London

Radiohead twice in a matter of weeks supporting different bands at The Barrel Organ in Birmingham. They had one okay song abd I thought the singer was an egotistical knob, I stand by my first opinion!

Saw the manic steet preachers in the same venue when then were playing 25 minute sets and mot plugging Richey Manic's guitar in. They were incredible, huge energy.

As I went to a LOT of gigs when younger caught quite a few bands in their very early days. Esp as support bands.

.

Nirvana supporting TAD

Radiohead supporting Kingmaker

Muse supporting Live

Kaiser Chiefs supporting a mate's band in a pub. Also playing were 10,000 Things who spawned actor Sam Riley

Green Day in a snooker club in Huddersfield.

Spacehog a few times in pubs etc... Their lead singer would go on to marry Liv Tyler as they found fame in the USA mainly.

Red Hot Chili Peppers in a pub in Fulham

PJ Harvey supporting my own (very unknown) band!

The housemartins round about 1984/5, never heard of them, my mate put the gig on n no one turned up n I thought they were great, lot better band back then before they started to release records.
