Are there times you are past tired, I've had my daughter the last two nights and I never sleep when she is here, right now I'm bolloxed but know I will not sleep properly tonight, I will be awake until the early hours, and have broken sleep thereafter?

Don't need sarky or bitchy comments off certain people

I get like this, I'm a terrible sleeper.

I can be absolutely knackered but it just takes the smallest thing to jolt me awake when falling asleep and I know I'll be awake for hours.

The last month or so running up to Xmas. Work insanely stressful at times, mentally running on fumes. Felt like I was on autopilot and just beyond exhausted.

Yes I can get like that. I can feel totally exhausted but just can't settle into a sleep. I hope you manage to get a restful nights sleep soon.

Yup.

I’m a terrible over thinker sometimes and I’m also a very light sleeper.

On the flip side though, I did have a lovely old man nap this afternoon

Insomnia is an absolute nightmare and can be so debilitating. My mother has been here for a week and I’ve actually had more sleep since she’s been here , apart from

Last night. I do think you can get past being tired . I know it’s part me my insomnia and try not to stress about it anymore.

Yes. Every couple of months I have a night where I just can't sleep, usually preceded by a few nights of very restless sleep and meaning I'm basically walking around like a zombie for a week or so.

Hopefully you will be able to sleep better tonight or at least tomorrow OP

Posh

In my old job I used to work 4 night shifts, then 4 days off. I was like a walking zombie for the first day or so of my days off, and by the time my body clock realigned itself to being awake during the day, it was time to start working nights again.

I worked there for 4 years, and was constantly fatigued the entire time.

Not had a good night sleep since son came home from uni, he's rolled in at various times over the last week and always likes to tell me goodnight lol then I have to get up and check he's locked up properly.

My current favourite sleep meditation is by positive life therapy on Spotify. Helps send me off some nights.

I'm going to struggle to sleep tonight, even though I'm exhausted from the babies doing what one and two year old do all day.

There was a rattling sound at the front door earlier that sounded like someone trying the door handle.

I'm scared to go to sleep in case I wake up to someone on the balcony.

I have been horribly insomniac all my life. I've been to two sleep clinics but the only thing that works long term for me is tablets and I'm reluctant to take them unless I'm in a particularly bad patch.

I've had a few very poor nights the last few nights, so I'm guessing I'll have to dose myself up at some point in the near future.

Since being pregnant with our 2nd around 18 months ago sleep has been difficult, I'm constantly on edge waiting for one of the kids to wake or think I hear them and I don't, it drives me crazy.

If I get over tired I struggle to sleep at all it takes ages to nod off then generally unsettled.

Yep I currently do nights ,so when I've finished them I'm often laid wide awake in the small hours ,even when I'm absolutely exhausted.

I'm swapping to days in January so I hope this might help me get back in a routine .

Yes, pretty much constantly.

My daughter doesn't sleep... wakes up multiple times a night, sometimes for hours and she's always up at 6am to start her day. I'm a very light sleeper, I never stop thinking and it takes ages for me to fall asleep.

It's absolutely horrendous! I constantly feel absolutely drained and nobody understands why.

I hope you'll get a refreshing long peaceful sleep soon.

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands

Irrespective of what time I go to bed I will immediately fall into a deep sleep I will wake up between 5 or 6 hours later then just toss and turn for the remainder of the night failing to get back to sleep.

I do have a 30 minute afternoon nap but that is an age thing.

Apparantly during my deep sleep I talk almost continuously putting the world to rights.

I don't need lots of sleep, so am awake lots, usually my body just says, hey, we need to sleep and I'll fall asleep or have a mammoth sleep. Funny how our brains are all different.
