What is class though?
Are the people more judged now by wealth. Those that have all, those have some, those who don't have a lot, those that have nothing at all.
Or maybe location drives it ... the North vs the South, the divide ... is it your polical opinion / standing? ..
So many questions....

True,but there's just as much resistance from "working class" to accept those from other perceived statuses into their folds. Some folk like the underdog status ?
To be honest I think the whole class issue, is simply cultural diversity and people being worlds apart, as opposed to arrogance. |

In our world of fab I don’t think there is a class system because we all love the same thing sex and have the same values and it doesn’t matter what car you turn up in to a meet or who’s brand names you are wearing when we are naked we can’t be judged
But in general there is still a class system those who think they are better and those who can afford better.

I wouldn't say we have classes as they did in 18th 19th and early 20th centuries. There are the really poor and the really rich and millions and millions in between who just get on with life. The really poor however do get state help so that alleviates them from being poor to an extent. I think we are pretty much equal apart from the super rich and the royal family, dukes etc. Though I have met dukes and lords and they pretty down to earth people. |

Yes the class system was created to divide and conquer. Just because we aren't all being separated like the titanic, doesn't mean it isn't live and kicking in this country. |

Certainly not classless.
Education significantly separates the classes but sadly there is a sector who I would call “plastic working class”, they are those who have a significant family wealth, claim to be Labour supporters and remind you that their parents were from place X or Y which is deprived and that somehow makes them less middle class than they actually are.
But our working class still talk about having gone abroad, maybe not every year but certainly have experienced a plane flight… so clearly not working class as the global average would be but they still feel hard done by.
Bashing the Tories seems accepted practice of the “socially aware” and the root of all class disparities . Fatiguing really, I can’t wait for the next election where Labour will win because Tories did a shit job, definitely not because they have a viable plan. The poor will still be poor and the rich will still be rich , and the rest of us will pay more tax that will be squandered and the path to levelling out class, education, will still be underfunded. |
