Hated them as a kid, then watched a TV show a few months ago where they were on a farm that produces sprouts and the presenter said that the bitterness had now been bred out of sprouts and they were now a much sweeter taste
So I decided to try them again and ............ they still taste the fucking same, awful |

"No, although I'd serve myself one - and eat it, so my kids didn't become fussy eaters. It's worked, I can stop now

This is genius. I loathe the embittered, dwarvish cabbages myself, but always ate them precisely to prevent fussy eating in my son. I could have eaten a hundred fewer over the years. Kicking myself. But Sprout Purgatory ends now!
Thank you. |

I don't like them but we have an Iceland delivery today and they offered parsnips, carrots and sprouts for 1p a bag. I might cook some of them, otherwise my dad will be getting them as a Christmas gift or the tortoise will be eating them for a week |

"About 50% of people have a gene that enables them to taste a chemical similar to phenylthiocarbamide that sprouts contain. Those who can't taste it generally like them. I love them.
Mr"
So is this gene good, or are sprouts good?!
