Is anyone else watching the series about the Estonia sinking? The first couple of episodes were interesting, though (thankfully) not quite as hideous as some articles I've read about it, and seemed to stick to the facts. Just wondering what people think of it, as I don't know anyone else who's seen it.

No I have not seen it but I have heard about from someone who lost friends on it. I’ve visited Estonia on numerous occasions and think it’s a wonderful place.

Where are you watching it as it sounds like something that would interest me?

Hi, it's on Quest, in the small hours of Monday (I think) and on Friday night at 10.00. It might be on Discovery too somewhere.

Yes that's what it's about, one of the worst sinkings since the Titanic though seemingly rather forgotten

There are plenty of theories about why it sank, it is pretty odd all round. It could have been refloated too.

Yes well worth a look. Also an interesting (although pretty hideous) article to read about it can be found by searching for The Atlantic Magazine MS Estonia. Though after reading that you might never want to go on a ship again.

Yes, also if you dig around on youtube you can find videos taken by the official divers inside the wreck not long after the sinking. I don't envy their job.

Absolute fustercluck and cover up by the Swedish government. They could have salvaged as many bodies as possible but chose not to. Just today they admitted that the ship was used for more than just the two secret military transports.

I personally think there's more to it and there's still a cover up. The full truth will never come out though.

Yes it's on at 10 tonight on Quest.

I agree with the other post too, we'll never know the full story
