There's a lot of negative comments about men's behaviour ( very often by men), but one pattern I've noticed, is the woe is me theme.
Men joining the forum games, commenting "I'm in, but noone will message me" or similar.
Do we think that helps, or instantly smacks of desperation which is off-putting. Putting it out there for the brothers. |

No one likes self pity, it shows a lack of confidence so why would anyone pick you?

I'd give you my honest opinion, but no one cares what I have to say anyway so why bother 
Joking aside, it doesn't help and it does give off an unattractive impression of yourself.
If you're feeling low/down/unattractive then talk to people about your feelings. Don't carry around all that weight  |

Many of the “poster above” type forum games get very boring as single guys either don’t post, or skip the poster above because it’s another bloke….
“No-one will message me” comments are counter-productive anyway, as such a small proportion of people in Fab use the forum, and of those that do, it’s very rare you will actually meet physically them. The messages I receive from posting in threads I reckon are only because they’re always miles away from me, so they feel safe……  |

People want to be noticed don't they? Men and women type it, maybe that's how they really feel or maybe they want someone to prove their fears wrong. Yeah, it's a bit silly but fuck it, we all do some silly behaviour on here. |

What cracks me up is when a single guy jumps in with the claim of 'oh here's another single men bashing thread' or 'women and couples tar all men with the same brush'.
Those threads are 99% of the time related to specific behaviour by a tiny minority of men. In no way, shape or form all men. But there are those that see any criticism of men, no matter how specific and how small a section of the Fab male population any negative feedback is targeted at, as a personal insult to both themselves and all mankind, regardless of the fact that they don't behave in the manner that's being criticised or do whatever is being moaned about.
Some like to play the victim.
Whether it's a hope that a 'woe is me' comment or thread will get them some sympathy sex (it won't - ever) or that they just feel that being overly negative about themselves will cause people to give them (often fake) compliments and encouragement - it's usually flaring obvious when it happens what the motivation is.

Woe is me and "no one will message me" comments are always a shame to see, because the poster is obviously feeling invisible. But it invites eye rolls and scorn because we don't know that's the case, and cynicism says that the poster is doing it for the sympathy vote, especially if it is said over and over again.
We all want attention... but do we really want eye rolls and scorn type attention? Feels doubtful.
No one should feel invisible though. We are all seen and acknowledged by someone. |

Or....posing the question on behalf of the men who post comments with an element of self pity, so they can read the comments for feedback. |

Me being serious for minute… I couldn’t agree more with the posters above - i do question if a site where rejection is around 99% of the experience for most blokes is a healthy place for anyone with low self esteem .. obviously I am no expert but it sometimes takes a thick skin to be on here and I genuinely worry about people who might be more vulnerable… and this time of year is no help whatsoever to those people.
I guess especially at this time of year we should go the extra mile to be kind and supportive of each other… |

In all seriousness it's a turn off, I get we aren't all confident but that self pitty is a little off-putting, it to me screams give me attention which makes me want to do the opposite, I'd rather reply, respond, wink whatever it maybe to someone who seems generally happy and friendly.

Like match make and such
Better to not know than to find out you not people’s cup off tea
