"Sad news "

Saw The Specials many times, lucky enough to see The Funboy Three once too. Always present around Coventry, used to bump into him all the time.

Terrific performer.

Very sad.

The Specials supported The Clash in 1978, I was at the opening night. You’re either not 54, or you were 10yrs old…? Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me

20 years since joe died. Loved The Clash. My brother was into all the punk new wave late 70s . He introduced me to so many great groups. Clash, strang*ers, the jam, boomrown rats, xray specs.

The Specials were great, though to be honest I'm just that bit too young to truly know and appreciate them. Fun Boy Three well that's different they were fantastic, yeah I prefer Fun Boy Three. Rest in peace Terry, you were fucking ace.

I’m just a little too young to have appreciated The Specials first time around… but Thinking Of You had the most gorgeous vocal harmonies, that’s my favourite song of his

I loved 2 Tone and ska when I was a kid, it's a music that's stayed with me over the years.

Thanks for the tunes. RIP

Brilliant musician, with input into many other bands.

The Specials had a way of getting a message out there.

A sad loss, far too young.

Always remember dancing (badly) to 2Tone at the school disco.

"ghost town" is still an incredible track although one of many Terry was involved in.

As a teenager and a heavy metal fan no other music was to be listened to. I quite liked Bucks Fizz ‘Land of make believe’ as a Christmas hit but that was it (definitely don’t admit to your mates you liked anything else).

However one Saturday I sneaked out of the house and bought Ghost Town by the Specials. I played it consistently and really liked the B Side of ‘Why’ an anti racism song and ‘Friday night and Saturday morning’ a song about tiresome weekend clubbing,

Terry Hall RIP
