I saw the Specials when they supported the Clash , what a nite that was , another sad loss this year along with Kieth Levine , Jet Black and Wilko Johnson , what a line up that would have been !! |

The Specials supported The Clash in 1978, I was at the opening night. You’re either not 54, or you were 10yrs old…? Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me |

20 years since joe died. Loved The Clash. My brother was into all the punk new wave late 70s . He introduced me to so many great groups. Clash, strang*ers, the jam, boomrown rats, xray specs. |

The Specials were great, though to be honest I'm just that bit too young to truly know and appreciate them. Fun Boy Three well that's different they were fantastic, yeah I prefer Fun Boy Three. Rest in peace Terry, you were fucking ace.

I’m just a little too young to have appreciated The Specials first time around… but Thinking Of You had the most gorgeous vocal harmonies, that’s my favourite song of his |

Oh no…. Great memories at Rock city & Palau’s under 18s Saturdays. He will be remembered by me for this great lyric
I won't dance in a club like this
All the girls are slags
And the beer tastes just like piss |

As a teenager and a heavy metal fan no other music was to be listened to. I quite liked Bucks Fizz ‘Land of make believe’ as a Christmas hit but that was it (definitely don’t admit to your mates you liked anything else).
However one Saturday I sneaked out of the house and bought Ghost Town by the Specials. I played it consistently and really liked the B Side of ‘Why’ an anti racism song and ‘Friday night and Saturday morning’ a song about tiresome weekend clubbing,
Terry Hall RIP
