Now then, I certainly like to post a thread or two and post on a few other threads also but noticed recently a number of particularly prolific threaders/posters. If you are one of them, do you set a target per day, are you a decoy employed to keep the forums lively and exciting or are you just a chatter box here and in real life. You are of course appreciated, whoever you are. I was just wondering about your motivation, that's all. |

Tom could be classed as a prolific poster but does not set a target. Admin could open a separate folder for Essex Tom threads .. he was on a plane once and the senior air steward in charge of the team actually took his cap off and knelt next to Tom's seat and personally thanked him for all he had done for the fab community.. |

"I heard if you post too many in a short space of time you can be sent to the naughty step for a few days
Lol, that alone might be motivation for some "
I tried and failed |

Some post alot because if they didn't they would just blend into the background with the rest of us
Those you shout loudest tend to have least to say blah blah blah |

I used to be a prolific thread starter to get people to join in. It's the ones that start threads for nonsensical reasons that bore me. But if there sensible or funny they can post as much as they like |

That's lovely. I hope all the passengers gave you a half standing ovation (overhead lockers). |

"Sometimes seems like people would prefer to all just sit in silence in here . I'm grateful to the ones who keep the threads ticking over - post away !"
Same here it would be so boring without the variety and people making the random threads |

"A few are just nonsensical dressed up in a lazy attempt at a question. Ultimately they just want people to view their profile and/or 17th profile pic change that day."
Yep, inane and annoying. I don't engage on their threads. |

"The ones that moan about the threads never start their own though. "
There are a lot who create threads and are very good at making as many as they can, feel included. I love those ones. |

I like people that talk more. I see light and shade, and you get to know (or kinda know them).
It’s a public forum and it’s only as busy as the people who contribute, I like it when it’s busy, there’s stuff to reply to. |

It does make me wonder whether people have day jobs they should be doing on occasion. I can post fairly frequently but it really depends on whether a thread deserves my attention |

"My fave forum post starter is busman I think x"
Yes, lots of more general open ended questions that anyone can contribute unlike those that are a tad more self-centred, a bit repetitive and feel rather forced in an attempt to post just another thread. Then again as has been said by many, people like them as it keeps the forum busy even if quantity outweighs quality. Pretty much like Xmas TV these days |
