Of course, as this year slowly winds it’s way towards the new, it’s fairly natural to look back, evaluate and review the year that has passed. From this perspective, how has your year been?
What have been the good points, bad points, lessons learned? |

My year has been pretty damn shitty. Broke my knee 6 months ago, all summer on crutches, get off the crutches for 6 weeks then re-break it slipping on ice last week. Plus moved house, had some very bad meets and got a bit fatter, older and wrinklier. Got a new car though, which was nice |

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope that the ordeal has given you strength |

Lost someone this year. Someone from my family who did so much for me financially and emotionally and they had only been back in my life two years after I never thought I would see them again.
I can’t process how they were here one minute and gone the next. I have dealt with death all through my life but cannot seem to deal with this one.
Other than that the years gone brilliant |

No game of chess was ever won by only making forward moves. -unknown
^this quote is the only thing that got me through the back end of last year.
To say the beginning of THIS year was a struggle is an understatement.
The middle resembled The Matrix reloaded, ie - it was promising a happy ending but never delivered when it arrived.
And here I am at the END of 2022 when I’m still trying to register what happened in 2020.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Here’s to next year right? |

I can’t help with you processing or dealing but I do know that no loss is ever without pain nor does that pain last forever |

"It’s been non eventful really apart from gaining a third dog.
I have to say I like non eventful. I had a few years where loved ones were dying every year and that was too much to bear."
I'm sorry that you've had such a rough few years, and that this one has been quieter and calmer. |

I think its been great mostly... Had some awesome sex whoop whoop, done lots of charity work, negotiated favourable working terms, managed a couple of holidays, smashed some work targets .. Gave up caffeine.. Surprised myself with my inner strength and personal growth which has lead to a stronger bond with my DD
On the downside my health took a knock after covid.. And i think menopause is kicking my ass .... but my hair looks fecking fantastic and is now half way down my back |

Yeah… these past two years have been rather abundant in ‘life’.
This year has had some real bumps, being homeless, losing friends, losing my job… it’s all taken a huge toll on my mental health.
I’ve survived and taken things from this year but it’s not been easy |

Cant believe another year is up already! Still bumping along the track. Bits fall off the back of the truck every once in a while and I acquired a few hitch hikers, but still going forwards... |

I live my life by the Seinfeld philosophy: no hugging, no learning. It's served me well. |

Like every year, it's been a mixture of positive and negative experiences...but how would we appreciate the highs if we didn't have lows to compare them to?
I lost my beloved pooch this year, which still hurts...but part of owning a dog is knowing that they will only be with you for a finite time, and I'm incredibly grateful for the love and happiness that he blessed me with in the years after I rescued him
General trials and tribulations in life all have a lesson to teach us if we're willing to learn...and the day I stop learning is the day that they're putting me in a box and sending me down the conveyor belt to the big oven!
I have a lot of positive things in my life, which I'm very thankful for...I have reasons to smile every day, people to love and who love me in return, a roof over my head, food on my table, and my health. That'll do me just fine, and long may it continue x |
