Hi all I'm looking at booking a hotel in Jan for me and a friend where not planning on staying the night just want a room for a few hours. Would I be expected to take luggage with me so it doesn't look so obvious as we won't be there overnight.

Never booked a hotel room before for us so any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you all in advance take care and stay safe.

Would a day room be any good or does it have to be evening?

Visiting Blackpool

The staff wouldn't care if you take luggage or not, or if you give the key back early.

Staff just want to check you in and to give you the right room. I often leave bags in my car, until the right time for me to take them in and I've got my room key

Often we check in, give our car registration then walk straight out and get something to eat.

yes take an empty suitcase just to keep up the pretence and ask for a room on the corner of the building so that the sound doesn't carry so much

Why wouldn't you stay?

Even if not together, she can go and you get the bed to yourself for the night, bonus.

Would be a weekend and we only get 1 day off plus she has family commitments

They know what you are up to, will gossip behind your back and maybe even post shit in their social media about the saddos using their hotel as a fuck spot!

That or they really won’t care as long as you leave them alone and don’t be a dick!

No intention of being a dick just new to hotel meets but I'm sure it'll be fine

Try a website called dayuse. You can usually have the room from 10 till 4.

They really are not bothered, they will have seen it all a hundred times over, probably even done it themselves, so don’t sweat it

many people travel light nowadays even if staying the night they just have a few things in a carrier bag , when booking ask when you can access the room they have to wait until the previous occupants have checked out & get the room cleaned etc

I've done this.

You need a pair of ski's a James Bond roll, a balaclava and two glasses of champagne.... And that's just for reception.

Staff won't give a toss if you tip up with one bag, ten bags or none.

You pays your money.

We had one guy turn up at a hotel gang bang meet and had a squash racket and a big gym bag.

He thought he was less conspicuous, bless him.

I think your right they probably got other things to do rather than wonder what an old man and lady are doing

If you took bags they would only be taking guesses at what sort of toys and equipment you would be using on each other. Travel light

Just book the room. No need to take pretend luggage. Hotel staff really don’t give a tiny rat’s ass about your extra-curricular activities.

Good luck.

Just do what you want, you’re paying for the room, the hotel really won’t care
