Surely smokers only taste bad if they have smoked before arring at yours.
I smoke - about 3 fags a day - on a good day.
Dont smoke all day at work, but like my on the way to wrk fag, on the way home from work fag and chill in the evening fag.
BUT - if with a non smoker - have been known to go ALL weekend, from Friday afternoon tilMonday morning with out smoking - even when they say i can.
.
BUT - on the other hand of that - i met a couple a while back who smoked alot - and cos i am a smoker they smoked at their normal rate.
They manages to fill up an ashtray EACH - and yes did tasted faggy, and when i got home my clothes and hair stank of cigs. Not nice.
So as with everything its all circumstantial, but as a non smoker i CAN understand you not wanting to meet smokers |

Well my doc told me that because i had given up smoking my body was clearing out all the shit so my immune system was lower than usual, which is why i probably picked up the flu bug which i have never done befor, that tunred into a chest infection, so as far as im concerned packing up smoking is bad for you |

Aint saying its not bad for you lol but so are a lot of things
For instance i dont really drink anymore cause at one time it really affected my life
Personally think alcohol is much worse for ya tan smoking
I realise they are both bad but at the end of the day what few pleasures do we have in life? xx |

one of the reasons i quit is that its the smokers who are forced to stand outside the pubs shivering....especially at this time of year....ha ha....i agree with you totally....your money...your choice...your health |

So... Get a few colds for six months or so or risk having Cancer that will kill you in a very painful way!
Hmmm.... What to do?
As an ex-smoker I suppose it is expected of me to try and push my smoking views on others... BUT... I don't! We have a few very good friends who smoke and all I have done is told them I would be happier if they didn't smoke because I want them around me for as long as possible. As long as they know that I can accept their decision.
Doesn't make me stop thinking just how silly people look with that little white stick dangling from their mouths!!! lol |

I can just about stomach it when someone who has never smoked comes out with this claptrap but when it's an ex-smoker, well, that just plain hypocrytical. |

I smoked for over 30 years and decided a year ago that it was about time I tried to pack it in. Thankfully, so far, I've not fallen off the wagon.... Unfortunately the smell of smoke makes me feel quite sick now!
As an earlier contributor said, your money, your choice.
I have managed to save £2000 in a year though! When I say 'save' I mean that's how much I've spent on other crap instead...... lol
I loved smoking but wish that I'd packed it in years ago.
Good luck to anyone thinking of packing it in, it's not easy for the first week, in fact it's bloody hellish!!! |

My Nana is 81, smoked all her life and is seriously ill with lung problems.
She keeps getting emphasema & Pneumonia - and each time ends up in hospital.
7 years ago she was told that she would have only 6 months to live.
So she thought fuck it - why should she pack up now, only 6 months left may as well enjoy the fags and die happy.
She has suffered ALOT in the last 7 years, and each yer we all wonder wil lshe make her next birthday.
I do really believe that if she packed up now the body removing the poisons really would kill her. So she still smokes - alot - appx 40 a day
.
The good thing that has come out of it was that when my dad was diagnosed with Ashtma, she helped him get all the patches, chewing gums etc, and after many many years of trying to give up - he finally has.
So although its too late for me Nana - she has hopefully prolonged me dads life instead.
God bless her. |
