I did however think we're taking about actual deer antlers, like people were wearing them as a fashion thing. Then I remembered it was Christmas and we're talking about fake antlers. I'm so slow.

It's a bit of light hearted fun at Christmas. Yes it's tat but I don't think people look like prats. It should just be taken in good spirit. But you carry on being miserable about such things if it makes you feel good. |

Just to make sure I'm following... Someone in a cafe was wearing antlers, as in Christmas Reindeer antlers, and this had an effect on you?
Starts a conversation with non miserable people and likely leads to better tips for people in a low-paying job.

I can imagine it made someone smile, giggle and chat today. Maybe even gave someone whether staff/customer the perfect opportunity to break the ice and strike up a conversation with someone and they left the cafe feeling happier.
An above poster mentioned the possibility of additional tips too, I agree with their reply
