I suffer with them. Never the headaches, just the weird vision and the feeling sick. Anyone else suffer from these b@stard things? Any great remedies?

Yep. Have done all my life. Back in 2001 I discovered one of the triggers when taking a trip abroad.

As the plane climbed, I got a stinking migraine, which lasted the entire 11 hours of the flight, but dissappeared when we touched down.

Aeroplanes pressurise the cabin to 10,000ft - which is obviously lower than at ground level.

I often get a migraine when we have a change in weather, more specifially when we go from a high pressure situation to a low pressure one

I used to suffer massively with Migraines , probably 2 or 3 a month.

I had a Daith ear piercing done over a year ago now and haven't had a single Migraine since.

Nothing more than a mild headache on off days now and that's it.

Yeah often.

I use sumatriptan it’s great , sometimes just 1/4 tablet shifts it. I also use walk in oxygen clinics here or in the uk I buy 15ltr oxygen from Amazon for £15 and treat myself , it’s fire in 15 mins , which is about half a can

Another vote for sumatriptan. Improving your lifestyle habits such as diet, sleep and exercise also went a long way to reducing the frequency of those bastard migraines.

Yes, multiple times a week. Sometimes they completely knock me out and I start getting sick and can't even open my eyes, I just need my bed and a dark room.

Excedrin helps to take the edge off. But nothing stops them coming back, and nothing makes a huge difference to the pain.

I've been struggling with this for years. I should visit my GP really.

I finally found a tablet that helped about 10 years ago, or so, that didn't cost the earth, but it ended up being withdrawn due to some licensing issue or other.

It was called 'Syndol' and whilst Syndol is available again, it's not quite the wonder pill it used to be

I have terrible migraines, tried every pill going, I got Botox injections through the nerologist and they work amazing, I mean they don't get rid of wrinkles and it's a lot of injections in random places (behind ears, down neck) but it works.

Yes, absolutely debilitating. Pretty much once a month before onset of period - meaning it's hormonal for me but I do have other triggers, like tiredness, dehydration, stress etc...

No OTC painkillers help and personally I prefer the natural route of prevention and treatment.

I use a Shakti mat (works pressure points), which I got secondhand on adverts.

I also take high dose, good quality CBD oil.

I use essential aromatherapy oils.

An ice pack to the affected area works a treat for distraction.

Finding your triggers and managing them where you can is key. A healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet, plenty of water, exercise, fresh air and a healthy regular sleep routine do help.

There is a point on the top of your foot, where the foot meets the ankle, you should feel an indentation there - this is known as the point to treat headache and knee pain. It's a point which is manipulated during a Thai Yoga massage for example (this is not a happy ending massage!). Maybe find a therapist in your area and treat yourself to one. Tell the therapist about your ailments. They may well help.

I've been meaning to try a chiropractor too. Some swear by them, others will tell you they're quacks...it's about what you're willing to try really.

Good luck with finding what works for you

I (mrs) have suffered migraines with visual disturbances since 16 years of age. God knows what causes them, but avoiding soft cheese has helped. Taking the prescription drug Natatriptan as soon as you feel one coming on is a god send. Gone in half an hour. See your GP and ask about treatments.

Two leaves of the feverfew plant. Chewed. Bitter but effective. Easy to grow.

Follow sufferers here; they’re the most awful, debilitating things. A nurse (and fellow sufferer) recommended full fat Coke for the sugar and caffeine hit - opens the capillaries in your neck which can cause them, apparently.

We variously take Nurofen Migraine Pain and Sumatriptan, but there’s no substitute for rest, sleep and lots of water to help prevent in the first place, even if that’s often easier said than done. I’m susceptible when my bloody sugar is low, too.
