There are so many adverts on telly asking you to adopt either an endangered species, a dog or cat or even a child's welfare in a far flung place. Do the adverts tug on your heart strings. Have you adopted this Xmas for yourself or as a gift? |

They used to. Now I just see them as a marketing gimmick. The one about the polar bears is the best, the ice caps are melting taking the polar bears with them. £3 will help. How will £3 stop the ice caps melting? |

"No, I've always wanted to adopt am animal but its a rip off that you don't get to take it home!!!
I might adopt a meerkat for my son when he's a bit older x x "
I've sponsored a dog for the last 3 years... And 2 years ago I was offered the chance to Foster him, so now I have the best of both worlds!! |

I already sponsor a sprog in Honduras and my local RSPCA cattery for myself. My Mam loves owls so I pay the annual sponsorship for a pair of barn owls up the road at Muncaster Castle for her as a Christmas gift and my dad always says he doesn't need anything so I buy one of those Oxfam unwrapped gifts (this year I've bought a sheep for some African farmer)
There's a few forumites I'd be happy to adopt for a few hours or days |
