Turkey crown this year as when I went to order the christmas food to order online all the whole turkeys were out of stock.
Not quite how a turkey to order is out of stock but hey ho...get out of making the turkey soup this year. |

Going to my daughters for Christmas Lunch, there will be 11 of us in total.
We tend to share the cost amongst us, my contribution will be the Desserts and the Cheeseboard along with all the soft drinks and 6 bottles of wine, others will provide a Turkey Crown, a Three Bird Roast and a leg of lamb, 120 pigs in blankets, all the veg and trimmings and of course the beer.
All will be prepared using a double oven cooker, 2 Air Fryers, 1 Slow Cooker and the Barbecue. |

At home. I'm hosting... no one else for the first time in years! Can. Not. Wait.
I can't decide between turkey, beef wellington or a large organic chicken. Always make mushroom wellington, something of a habit now.
Sides - cauliflower cheese, shredded sprouts with pancetta and garlic, chanteray carrots drizzled in honey and fresh thyme, fine beans with olive oil and shallots, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings, some sort of gratin (undecided). And bread sauce and homemade gravy and cranberry sauce.
I have a roast dinner maybe once or twice a year. And enjoy it far too much. |

I’ll be cooking Turkey with all the trimmings for 6 of us.
We’re having mackerel pate, honey & mustard chipolatas and figs in Parma ham with Stilton to start! Little walk to the pub then home for the main course!
Christmas pudding and if anyone has room, there’ll be cheese, coffee and brandy |

Sandwich |
Gammon, chicken, roast and mashed potatoes, sprouts, mashed carrots and swede, roasted veg, pigs in blankets and homemade gravy.
I may be alone, or my eldest daughter may join me. I shall be making plenty because I shall be having the rest of the family over for cold meats and bubble and squeak later in the week.
I am looking forward to a peaceful day |
