What do you do on Christmas day?
Jump to: Newest in thread
We're curious to know how people's day goes . Do you spend it with family? Do you have to work?
We're fortunate as we don't have to work and we spend time with family.
Big respect to those that work |

Not all that North of North London |
I'll do parkrun in the morning eith my partner, she'll head off to spend the day with her son around lunchtime and depending in the weather I'll go for a walk or out on my bike for an hour or 2. I'll plan to cook a nice meal for late afternoon but may put myself in a cheese coma instead. Will ignore Christmas TV and probably watch Dr Who reruns all evening. Absolute bliss.
I used to offer to work on boxing day for double time but my new job means I get the whole week off which will be different! |

"I'm just going to my mums for dinner and will come home after the Kings speech"
How weird does that sound being “the Kings speech” now
Hope you have a good day lovely. I’ll be at home just me and my mum |

Wake up when the first child wakes up. Put the kettle on and wake everyone else up.
Open presents. Make breakfast while kids are playing with the new toys.
Put the turkey on to cook.
Other people arrive and we open more presents. Play with kids and new toys.
Have dinner.
Watch a Christmas film.
Eat snacks.
Have a couple of drinks throughout the day. Not too many now we have three babies in the family.
Eat more snacks.
Put babies to bed.
Have another drink and watch a Christmas film.
Go to bed.

Daughter with me Christmas Eve and up until she’s eaten fillet steak for her lunch
She then goes home and I’m on my own, this year I don't plan on doing what I have previously and consume far too much good red wine and port.
Hope you all have a wonderful time whatever you are doing |

I don’t have much in the way of family left. I have been invited to my sisters but probably won’t go. I’ve offered to work Christmas Day if any of the lads with children want it off but when work are paying x7 hourly rate not many want it off. So it’ll be a dinner for 1 and my dog. Sofa all afternoon watching some kind of sport most probably. |

We both had years of working Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve both before we got together and married and after. Now through operations and illness we can’t work would love to be fit to but it hasn’t worked out. In some ways don’t miss having to work the festive holidays. Prefer spending it with family. |

I'll be sat in a radio studio on Christmas day waffling on for three hours, followed by picking my parents up and driving to my brother and his wife's for a late dinner. Drop parents back home, swap presents, then back home for about 7pm to a roaring log fire and a glass or two of wine. |
