I feel there is a partial truth. Just consider the name only in Sanskrit it’s yog which means to connect two with each other. Now because of west it is pronounced yoga but it’s not just about name the way west is adopting the yoga they take it merely a kind of physical exercise there are exceptions. Even in India people don’t understand the entirety of it.

In the I will say yoga is not about predetermined ends it is about being aware of direction. It’s not an expressive art form like dance where we aim for perfect shapes but it’s about your own experience. A blind and deaf person can do yoga and experience the same…xx that is my view..

Thats what you experienced. Try a different approach and when you feel the bliss from inside might forget about things outside

I dont understand what this uk yoga even is.

I know qigong, raja yoga,, Sazen & 5-Tibetans from my travels in the east as a young hippy doing retreats etc but what I’ve seen in the UK advertised as *Yoga* , I’d have to agree with Toms favourite militant hard left communist friends.

Depends what yogi you're instructed by. Some wholeheartedly recognise and respect its origins.

Peace

I've noticed a trend in recent Tom threads where Tom fails to state whether or not Tom is a fan of the subject he is putting forward.

Personally, I miss this. Clearly Tom is no fan of the Ultra Left Wing Guardian - who but rabid Commie lickspittles are? But is he a fan of mystical Eastern practices? I think his devoted readers need to know.

Tom always feels sad at new year and avoids those programmes that reflect on 2022 and those poor souls who perished in the last 12 months. He is not one to condemn others who celebrate the festivities but it's his annual low... But hey. We are all different. It's for others to put forward the Top Ten Tom Threads or as Tom calls it the TTTT.

Have festive peace my brother's and sisters Amen.

Near Wells

There was also a piece in The Times on Monday (I think). Saying a similar thing about the West dumping the original Indian methods and using it to suit the West's values, ie almost moneytise it.
