What is it? Why is it? What's the value? What's the point?
Is it really true that someone has "the last word" (irresepctive of any facts) that they've supposedly "won the argument" or is it a matter of the other person being the bigger man and not giving the attention the other person is craving?
Frankly I don't get it - the only reason I've been drawn into arguments in the past is because I prefer to give facts (roses are red and violets are blue) but some prefer "the last word" as some sort of "validation" of their factless and frankly stupid points.
Just a random rant, feel free to offer clarification on the conundrum. |

Depends on the argument. Example:
Someone says an item does NOT belong to you and hence are trying to claim "the last word". you however have the paperwork of said item with your name clearly in the "owner" column so don't see a reason to even enter any debate on the matter.
However the person decides telling everyone else that you had no response puts him in the right.
Do you bother getting drawn into the argument, or being the bigger man, ignoring him and leave him with "the last word"? |

Legally, the last person to communicate in a contractual arrangement is the one that 'wins', so there is merit in that.
Personally, as I don't argue with people and am quite happy to let people have the last word if its that important to them, its not something that bothers me. |
