Finally got round to listening to the new Leonard Cohen album, Old Ideas.

Even at 78 he is still totally badass.

Any other LC fans?

Just bought tickets to see him at the O2 in June.

His new album is excellent.

I'm a massive fan but Ju isn't that keen.

This! I'm an upbeat, positive person, but a boyfriend I had loved Leonard Cohen and suggested I listen to him. After listening to Suzanne I had visions of jumping in front of an express train.

He wasn't a boyfriend for long!

Deeply depressing music.

I think people who find him depressing haven't got him or understood it (people say the same thing about Dylan).

His lyrics are insightful, witty and warm...."I fought against the bottle, but I had to do it d*unk" and "You told me again you preferred handsome men

but for me you would make an exception."

And his voice sounds better now than it ever has, sonorous and resonant; the voice you'd imagine god to have. (weird man crush alert!)

I find all this manufactured X factor pop rubbish very depressing. What's more miserable than sitting down on a Saturday evening watching people commenting on a kareoke contest.

At least Leonard Cohen is a proper musician who writes all his own stuff.

Just back from seeing the great man. He only did three hours, not bad for a seventy nine year old. What a great night out , one of the best.
