"Elf on the shelf.
I know the kids love it and it is fun for them, but coming up with the ideas is driving my family slightly mad "
This!!, I just refuse to do it. My friends do it with their kids and the stress they go through every night trying to think up different things to do with them |

This is my one. I told my son that Elf can only go to one house and he chose his mums. |

"Trying to put the stockings in the kids rooms when you’re not sure they are asleep, nerves shredded! "
I remember my mum doing it one year when I was a teenager. I just called out "thank you Mrs Santa" and made her laugh |

That duet that goes 'rumppumpum pum" ..repeatedly by bing crosby & david bowie..absolute drivel.
-Everyone I speak to seems to like it.
Quite a few other Xmas songs actually. ('Simply having' by paul mcCartney is one more that makes me go slowly insane.)
I do like 'fairytale of new york' though. The pogues, kirsty mccoll version. & The version by christy moore is super also. |

I'm with you on the music my dude. Also just heard Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas in M&S. Sweet Jesus that song makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon

"Paul McCartney singing Wonderful Christmas time.
Worst Christmas song ever "
I will see your Paul and raise you a Cliff, Mistletoe and wine! But then, nobody could like Cliff?
I dislike most things about xmas:
Puddings
Mince Pies
Cake
Badly cooked veg
Overcooked meat
Cheap, shitty presents that last about 10 mins.
Mulled wine.
Overly happy people.
Darkness
Snow, admit it, on balance it is annoying, even if it looks nice.
Meeting strange family members I have moved 100's miles away from.
Travelling in cars for too long.
Overpriced snacks masquerading as special because they are in a shiny fucking tin!
HO HO HO! |

I'm not bothered about elf-on-the-shelf but it bores me to tears when parents on social media share every single day what they've done but they post to other adults as if it is actually the doll getting up to mischief. 'Look at what the naughty elf has done this time...'

"Call me a Scrooge but most of it for me, that one day of the year where everyone plays happy families but the next day it’s back to normal " I don't have a family but I like Christmas |

This is banned here. A creepy creature wandering around the house at night. Being naughty whilst they are asked to behave defeats the purpose;-) |

My take on it exactly. You can't roll around in flour or torment the cat but it's OK for that creepy
Fucking Elf to do it

Christmas dinner! It’s not the taste as much as the style and all those pans and mess with boiled and roasted stuff. And gravy
I would do very lightly steamed vegetables with air fried sweet potato and plantain and maybe bbq chicken |

Work Christmas Party.
Asked once if I was going. "I dont go out with you all year, why would I want to just because its Christmas?"
Anything American.
Candy canes for example. Where did they come from?
Elf on a shelf is another.

I quite like Boxing Day as it means all that Xmas bollocks is over for another 364 days and you can just concentrate on some time off from work (well now I’ve escaped to world of unsociable hours and weird shift patterns).

Glitter, Christmas songs on repeat no matter where you go, the dreaded Elf - it’s not that I’ve no ideas but waiting for the kids to settle before we can actually do said idea is a nightmare and there were occasions last year where it was a rush job at 6am the next morning. |
