For information - light speed is approx 186000 miles per second so in 25 minutes they would be (25x60) x 186000 miles away which would put them in France by my calculations or about 280 million miles away give or take…. |

Maybe it’s VPN. I often use VPN on fab especially if sending a message with an image . I know it uses SSL but I’m extra cautious |

If you’re on Fab from a mobile, the location stuff works quite well. If you log on from a computer though, it’s picking up location info from all sorts of places - might be where you actually are, but equally it could pick up wherever your Internet provider is based, or a switching point somewhere along the way. |

Who's near uses the phone GPS not IP location
It's more likely to be two people logging into the same account from different places. |

Based on the mast they connect to.
As you move around the country, your phone disconnects and reconnects from mast to mast, hence why you’ll see their distance increase over time.
Is also how the emergency services triangulate your position. |

Or they have a gps spoofing app on their phone. It is trivial to make your phone think it is anywhere in the world with one of those apps. |

Not sure how it works but my location stays at the postcode I put in here wherever I am. I’m often in another country too and it stays the same. Not sure if it’s to do with location services being off. |
