The biggest single thing is popularity itself. Marketers know that just putting 'Bestseller' or '1 million copies sold' will by itself raise sales. Opinion polls aren't allowed in the UK on the day of elections, because apparently if people know if one side is winning they are more likely to vote for them.
Bizarre herd behaviour in a non-herd animal. I'd sooner trust my 8 year old son's opinion than a random member of the public. I mean, have you MET the public? Wretched. |

Apart from the odd renegade like Eminem, its pretty much just the new version of PWL- they all sound the same, chatting the same shit over the same beats with the same ego and the same clothing.
80's & 90's was so much more interesting as everyone seemed to have their own style from Run DMC to Public Enemy, Snoop to Wu Tang to Cypress Hill- all looked a bit different and you knew who was who. Recently saw a promo on TV for R1 xtra, thought they were just playing the same person all the way through  |
