I hope this isn't considered spam or advertising:
Although it's too late for Christmas now why not consider sending a care parcel to a serving soldier in Afganistan or elsewhere?
Even really simple stuff like tea bags and HP sauce are really appreciated by them. Magazines, airfix kits, silly games etc. can make a huge difference to those serving in these tough environments and show them we all care about them.
Best of all, it's FREE for parcels under 2kg.
Take a look at the Support Our Soldiers site for how to go about it. You don't even have to know a serving soldier.
I sent my first parcel yesterday and my little boy put a card in - and some modelling baloons! Lol
Thanks for reading this |

I used to love getting these care parcels. It made us feel appreciated and in a way, loved.
You would not believe the morale boost that such a simple and generous gesture produces. |

I'm part of a club that does this for a member who is serving in Afghanistan now. He gets loads of boxes from us all and shares them out to his unit.
He was on R&R a few weeks ago and told us all just how much those boxes mean to him and his comrades |

"I put modelling ballons in and those bloody awful noisey ballons in that fly around the room! My sons idea "
I get like these sponge big glasses things that they make up themselves to wear lol and face masks to paint, i do the balloon thing as well, apparently it really boosts moral |

"Hey, im interested in doing this but who do you address the parcel too? and what do ya use to put stuff in? a shoebox?"
A shoebox is perfect, but keep it all under 2kg. Look at the Support Our Soldiers website and they give you details of what to do, a guide on what to send and will send you parcel on if you don't have a named soldier. |

At the moment the Mod are asking not to send them there are too many to deal with and there is a back log it's a great thing but try doing it in the new year. We only have a certain amount of planes so it causes a problem this time of year when we need supplies it means the gift boxes you send will probably stay in this country until the new year anyway. I ain't being the grinch send them by all means they are great but try sending in jan x |
