I average 3 and a half hours of sleep per night. This has been the same since I was a child and very rarely I sleep longer. It doesnt seem to affect my ability to function the next day much, but I do suffer depression and migraines. I have always wondered if they are linked to the lack of sleep.
What is your average sleep time? Can you not function on less than 8 hours? |

"Pre-children I wouldn't survive without at least 8 hours unbroken sleep.
Now I pretty much have 5 hours a night and function perfectly fine."

I get around 5/6 hours but I’m a light sleeper so it’s usually broken sleep. I function fine most of the time but I’d like around 8 hours , wishful thinking when you have kids. |

When I was doing shift work (4 on 4 off, 2 days 2 nights 12hrs a shift) my sleeping pattern was dogshit and I used to have real bad headaches. Don't get them anywhere near as much now I don't do that job. |

The older you get the less sleep does you , they say 8 hrs but people are happy with 6 hours mainly because after work they relax so that relaxation even though they may not count it that part is also relaxing the body and sometimes a person can also fall asleep during such , it's just the body's way of protecting itself. |

5-6 hours. I wake up multiple times though and I get up stupidly early.
Considering how much I like the bed to myself, I actually sleep better when with someone. |

3/3.5 hrs of actual sleep. It's been like that for 30 years and never affected my ability to function until this time last year.
I've had all the symptoms of long covid despite never testing positive and combined with lack of sleep means I have zero energy and even less motivation. |

I used to sleep really well and get a good 8 hours a night. In the last few years though most nights are broken sleep where I wake up at least 5 times and I'm lucky if I get about 5 hours in total most nights. I wake up feeling as tired as when I went to bed and even on days off like today I'm wide awake between 5.30 am and 6am anyhow. |
