Morning fabbers

Does anybody else roam the forums and think to themselves ‘surely they have made that thread just for a reaction’? Rather than it being a thread for interaction it’s a thread to provoke?

Always curious

Undoubtedly... Very good for filtering!

I did read a title the other day and thought... Oh they are finally being honest.. But it turned out it wasn't actually about them

There are some serial reactors on here and those who know what buttons to push so every thread they create is productive as far as they are concerned.

Others just twiddle a few knobs and stand back to see what happens.

Others are knobs and get their kicks from being twiddled.

indeed. I also see threads as being "infomercials"... Basically extensiona of their profile.

Quite a number are especially constructed to create conflict and usually eith OP sitting back and enjoying what ensues. Sad really and usually from those with extreme partisan politics, though not exclusively. On the other hand there are aldo lots of genuinely good threads who create good sensible, enjoyable and informative debat. And of course who doesn't love those 'what biscuit do you like', no matter how much controversy they may cause. I like all the food and drink ones

My personal opinion is that in any group you need people who say things just for the reaction. It gets people talking, sometimes even makes people think.

But surely positively not in a negative way… positive thinking & reaction is worthwhile

they were baiting you. The real professionals throw hand grenades in existing threads, rather than start new ones.

Threads are all either:

Hot topic (current events, World Cup, Anything Tom read somewhere)

Whines (why can’t I…)

Wind ups (say something controversial and run)

Best of repeats and games (my mate fancies you)

I’m bored (what’s your favourite biscuit?)

Rarely does one break ranks and be informative or particularly interesting, but it happens a couple of times a day perhaps. The ‘fire in the hole’ get a reaction ones are even sometimes fun especially when it backfires on the OP

How can I get my wife to fuck strangers when she insists she doesn’t want to?

I’m not showing her my profile neither.

Sometimes. They can be quite interesting, but I don't like the feeling that we're just providing entertainment for the OP.
