(In between looking at the pictures of tits and fanny's of course, I'm not a pervert) I'm not a massive football fan...i mean I'd like us to do well and support us but, if we won and were the best team playing the best football... That's a huge positive...for so many reasons... Nice guys can win and all that. But if we won playing that dross... For me it would kind of be like the women winning... As in, Well done, but can't get excited about it. At the end of the day it's supposed to be entertaining and enjoyable to watch... Getting slightly ahead of myself though... Did we overachieve, I suspect so.
Did we get a favourable route to the semis and final, did other teams results help us, I suspect so.
It remains a mystery why a team with so much individual talent can't actually play as a team. It's not like they're not used to playing quality European opposition/players, most of them do it week in week out in the PL and CL.
Is the weight of our expectation too heavy, does the criticism they get for a poor performance affect how they express their talent, does the fear of loss and the venom it attracts make them afraid to take risks and play not to lose, rather than take risk and play to win?
I'm not sure I'd want to be an England manager or player.

I like the fact they seem to enjoy playing for England now. Kudos to Southgate. And you can't take away the performances at the last two tournaments. And Southgate is a master leader... Good god he is he a nice bloke who never makes a false step. But we don't have a crop of "world class" players.... We have some decent ones. Expectations as always are way to high... And as I said... We are a tough watch. Its boring as hell. There have been some great exciting and skilful games so far. Watching us grind out a nil nil draw isnt going to keep me from reorganising my sock drawer.

I do wonder, if we keep playing poorly, but win the World Cup how people will react.....
Will he suddenly become the greatest ever England manager, or will people moan about how shit we played?

I was pondering this earlier this morning... (In between looking at the pictures of tits and fanny's of course, I'm not a pervert)
I'm not a massive football fan...i mean I'd like us to do well and support us but, if we won and were the best team playing the best football... That's a huge positive...for so many reasons... Nice guys can win and all that. But if we won playing that dross... For me it would kind of be like the women winning... As in, Well done, but can't get excited about it. At the end of the day it's supposed to be entertaining and enjoyable to watch... Getting slightly ahead of myself though... We need to beat the Welsh yet and that's not a given. "Wait, what..... there's tits and fannys on here.......?

I think playing entertaining football "and" winning stuff is the Holy Grail of football.
