London

Today's 4 matches.

Wales v Iran 10am

Qatar v Senegal 1pm

Holland v Ecuador 4 pm

England v USA 7PM

Gareth Bale will become Wales record cap holder when they take on Iran this morning...

England should qualify for the round of 16 with a victory against the USA

Harry Kane is fit to start tonight's match..

Any comments or predictions for today's 4 games?....

Irans players were very brave for refusing to sing their national anthem and I hope to they aren't punished.

Yeah. They arrested a guy who just missed out on the squad yesterday. Seems like it was a warning to the players.

Not where we seem to be...

I'm on my own in the office today.

"Might" have the Wales game on.

Although I'm a bit to far from the telly to get the full experience.

I predicted this as a hard game for Wales.

Bit of a bummer off a game

With that performance do you think we can get through the knockout phase

Bit late to the party, but (as a Wales fan), I just wanted to congratulate Iran on a deserved win today. Given the Welsh performance, it would have been a travesty if they didn’t win.

Sadly a few years too late for three of the best ever Welsh players (Bale, Ramsey, Allen). Not too sad though - somehow dragged ourselves to a WC, something I feared I’d never witness.

Can’t be too critical - we’re the second smallest country there.

The real “win” is the way the FAW is now more forward-looking and is transforming the game at grassroots in Wales. Hopefully we can be OK and qualify in the longer term.

Yes was abysmal but they actually donate their appearance fees to charity and have done since 2007.

Also you can't compare the mens team and womens, yes they've won so just leave it at that

I still think playing like that would beat this welsh team….England will qualify….this game was just a bad performance….they still have 4 points from 6!!

It pains me to say but England will beat Wales easily and qualify!!

I don't think it will be an easy match...Wales will be fired up to take on England and will raise their game and want to put right that bad display against Iran...I will be a nervous wreck watching it and might need a couple of strong brandies or 2!

Why a nervous wreak? We’d now have to lose by 4 goals not to qualify?!

Yup, the 6 - 2 win was incredibly dull.

I wonder if the effort they put into the first game, combined with the heat affected them....

Not taking anything away from the USA, who were tactically sound, stuck to their plan and were the better side for most of the game.

Pulisic is IMHO a very good and underrated player.

Thing is Winston. Are you able to predict which england show up for the next game.? The boring, slow, pass it backwards England that played in the nations Cup.. And the USA game... And the qualifying matches... Or... The exciting vibrant, confident, expressive one that showed up against Iran.? Previously only seen in the 5 1 defeat of Germany in munich. I mean 2 games in and has kane had a shot at goal yet.? Its frustrating when you see glimpses of what we are capable of.

We're on a piss poor run of form that's for sure, 6 - 2 game aside.

I suspect our success at the last 2 major tournaments has coloured peoples expectations. We did well for sure.

Did we overachieve, I suspect so.

Did we get a favourable route to the semis and final, did other teams results help us, I suspect so.

It remains a mystery why a team with so much individual talent can't actually play as a team. It's not like they're not used to playing quality European opposition/players, most of them do it week in week out in the PL and CL.

Is the weight of our expectation too heavy, does the criticism they get for a poor performance affect how they express their talent, does the fear of loss and the venom it attracts make them afraid to take risks and play not to lose, rather than take risk and play to win?

I'm not sure I'd want to be an England manager or player.

I like the fact they seem to enjoy playing for England now. Kudos to Southgate. And you can't take away the performances at the last two tournaments. And Southgate is a master leader... Good god he is he a nice bloke who never makes a false step. But we don't have a crop of "world class" players.... We have some decent ones. Expectations as always are way to high... And as I said... We are a tough watch. Its boring as hell. There have been some great exciting and skilful games so far. Watching us grind out a nil nil draw isnt going to keep me from reorganising my sock drawer.

No, England didn't win in 1066. The back passing from the opposition was rather pointed
