Don't get what the issue is about age. Dishonest pics I get, but if I say I'm 30 and I'm really 50 but look exactly like my pics, what is the issue? Everyone says it's all about connection and personality blah fucking blah... that's a lie then because if that were the case, age shouldn't matter. |

if its a year here or there then i understand but there are 1,000s on here lying by 10 or 20 yesrs easy some even more we know of one persone whos in his early 80s yet his profile states hes 51 but thankfully they are easy to spot and those that try to fool you with old pics that turn up looking nothing like well thats easy we aint playing bye bye thats the main problem they lie about age and then send old pics |

Same reason people use filters; use pics taken from Twitter accounts; or lie about their job or past jobs.
To make themselves seem more attractive than they are.
Some do it for anonymity and to get through age filters too.
Some people think they look years younger than their actual age. |

In my experience 30 year olds are much different to 50 year olds; no matter how much they kid themselves they aren't.

It makes me a bit cross. I don't believe its necessary and I'll end conversation if I find out their age is wildly inaccurate.
A "bit cross" is all though. I won't lose sleep over a bloke's insecurities |

Some of us won't meet people a lot older than ourselves as it's too close to our own parents ages as well.
Prime example being messaged previously by a guy who said he was 52 when he was actually 65, my parents aren't even 65 yet!
To me it puts me right off..... |

People don’t just lie about age, some say they are single when they’re not, non-smokers who clearly smoke blah blah
All they want is a fuck basically!
I FaceTime everyone before I’d even consider meeting them, if they refuse or make excuses - it’s a ‘No’ from me!
I agree with the others, clubs are better, age really isn’t an issue if the attraction is there! |

People who don't use accurate ages fall into three camps generally.
Those that knock 5-10 (or more) years off because they think people aren't interested in folk their age and they want to appeal to a younger market.
Those who do it just to get around filters, whether a year or two or more.
Those that make minor adjustments for discretion purposes to distance themselves from the real them.
Two of those are doing it to be deliberately disingenuous. One isn't really doing any harm.
Line up any 10 people in each age bracket - 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's - and then try to accurately put them in exact age order.
I'd put a sizeable sum against anyone guessing the correct ages of all.
And as has been said. I've never known anyone ask anyone their age in a club or group social environment. It would be an interesting experiment to take ages off all profiles on here and just let people decide if they're attracted to someone or not......
