Am I the only one who is finding the barrage of TV perfume ads more than a tad annoying? The abstract images, the whispering, husky voices, the body-beautiful users ...
What a wholesale collection of pretentious tosh! |

I suppose they're supposed to be arty, creative and depicting opulence - something for us mere mortals to aspire to.
But they're just too weird and abstract - Why do the marketing gurus think that Liv Tyler driving a speed boat at night in a backless dress would make us want to buy that brand of perfume?

Strangely enough, I choose perfume based on how it smells
I'm not sure why the marketing would help.
Neither of my main two favourite perfumes are advertised much - one of them not at all here. |

"*Stares moodily off in the distance while pouting*
Don't forget the call of a lonesome seagull circling overhead whilst a black panther crouches in the background."
And a random, nothing-to-do-with-perfume bollocks voiceover in exotic accented English. |
