The good stuff is amazing

It’s become associated with chin-stroking, but guys like Miles Davis, Charlie Parker etc, were badasses - in terms of lifestyle, attitude and desire to push music’s boundaries.

They basically didn’t give a **** and were way more punk than punks.

I saw Sun-Ra Arkestra a few years ago. Was blown away by these dudes in mad capes playing heavy space-jazz. Some are in their 80s and 90s and the main dude, Marshall Allen is 98!

Badasses

I like Big Band and older jazz, but hate modern jazz. Best description I heard was it sounds like a load of musicians falling down a flight of stairs.

You mean to say that Reel 2 Real and the Mad Stuntman were actually telling me to Jizz It Up?

Well, this is a pickle.

little house on the praire

I've never really been into jazz but my late partner was so as a surprise I got tickets to see Chris barber and I thoroughly enjoyed it so we went a couple of times. Chris Barber was about 90 at the time. Sadly he has passed away now but his band is still going

Worthing

I sometimes have youtube videos playing 'Coffee shop ambience with jazz'. Quite relaxing during work.

Extremely nice, the biggest part of my (showing my age) CD collection is jazz. Running from the 20 century music to relatively recent performers. There are so many genres and styles of jazz there is scope to like and dislike so much of it.

believe he plays on Bosch series along with some other class acts some pretty chilled beats in those series.
