probably a thread best for after Christmas but....would you go in for a re-gifting scheme?

Everyone gets gifts from an old aunt or random friend that you wouldnt use in a month of Sundays so why not re-gift them or swap them with other people who would use them?

Brighton - even Hove!

My crap presents get recycled to charity shops. I suspect that's where they came from in the first place.

To me Xmas is about spending time with people, not how much is spent or who's bought what

Having asked not to receive this year I'm hoping everyone sticks to it. Other years I've kept unwanted items to use for birthdays or thank you presents. That reminds me there is still a bottle of Midori at the back of my wardrobe to re-allocate..hmmm.

Just make sure it's not the present they bought you last year - we had a present that went back and forth for years - it became a standing joke in the end!

The child in me still looks forward to seeing what Santa left under the tree even though I know it's a crock of shit. It's not the gift per se that means so much, it's knowing that someone bought me something I really wanted that shows they put some thought into it.

I don't re-gift as such, but I do give things to other people if they're more suited. I just make sure it's to someone who knows I'm not bring ungrateful and will not drop me in it with the original giver.

For example one of my best friends gave me a bottle of expensive perfume she chose for me because of the name. I gave it to another dear friend who happens to love it.
