bottom 2 dance off, surely the one with the least number of votes should leave as the loser, You don't re run a race against the last 2 to see if the last person can do a bit better.
Also, how can you be winning a vote 2-1 and then lose it 2-2 ??

1) We don't know who got the least votes
2) Shirley has a casting (double) vote as head judge. This has been the same since the start of Strictly when the head judge was Len
3) It's a TV competition for celebrities, the prize is a glorified disco ball. Not really any need for get so het up? |

the guy was not winning 2-1 he was losing 2-1 when shirley had to cast her vote....but i agree the voting should just be down to the judges and never a phone vote,,, but its all about getting the most money out of the general public as possible,, tony adams should have went out in week 1 or 2 but kept in by arsenal supporters and others by soap watchers,,,  |

“Making the most money”
Most people vote online for free. Phone voting is just 15p. The BBC aren’t allowed to run a phone vote to make money, they have the small charge to cover the costs of operating the phone line.
The “Dance Off” is designed as an extra level of jeopardy. If they just took the phone vote and said”goodbye” it would be pretty boring. This is primarily a bit of entertainment and that is what the format is designed to do.
The Dance Off also allows the show to retain a little control. Especially in the early weeks of the show, voting can be erratic and it’s easy for a great dancer to end up at the bottom. The Dance Off helps prevent overly erratic results. |
