We think they're useful, if we're very interested in someone that has sent a wink we'll message them. If their profile looks ok but we're still undecided we'll send a wink back and see if they message and go from there. If we send a wink and don't hear anything back, then we take it as they're not interested.

Winks work. At least, if you wink someone, it comes up on their home page that you have winked them.
Whether they take the slightest interest is another thing entirely...

Some love them, some hate them.
We don't mind getting them. Then, if we're interested we know a message would be welcome. Or we wink back and they know it's okay to send a message. |

More miss than hit for me. Mostly I get people look at profile after I've winked them, but that's it, just a look. Had a couple of meets that started with a wink.
Personally if someone winks me I wink back and message. |

Some people don't respond to them - they're a lost cause - you lose nothing.
Of the rest - you're potentially in luck . Nobody moans about the huge effort involved in sending winks ever. . The potential recipients woll never know of your existence or interest, unless you do something.
Most people are not mutually compatible with most other people. So most winks won't achieve pussy riot overflows. You can't blame the tools, if you were never compatible.
