"High society +rear window "
I met Grace Kelly, and her children, and had a long conversation with her in the mid-1970s, in the Air France VIP Lounge in Heathrow; she gave me her famous autograph!
Very intelligent lady; but her three children looked displeased at my confidence in having approached her. |

Whilst no one movie could ever tick all the boxes the Godfather trilogy comes close; it is so true to life and so meticulous in its execution that it will endure for hundreds of years; it is 50 years since the original, and it had stood the test of time exceptionally well.
Godfather two, holds the record for a sequel being even better than the first and whilst the third has its flaws it rounds off the trilogy.
Cinematic masterpieces that synergistically work together to produce a masterful whole! |

"I like many movies but my favourite is castaway with tom hanks. I like it how he is trying to survive on the island and then having a football as his friend, he also named the football wilson "
Castaway takes the art of product placement, that is indirect advertising to an extreme.
Wilson the ball is merely given this name to advertise the Wilson brand; if another company had come up with a bigger offer, financially, Hanks might have been calling it Nike or Hoka!
A count was done of the number of times, the word FedEx appears in the film and it is astronomical! |

A fave of mine has always been ‘a knights tale’
“Your men love you..if I knew nothing else about you that would be enough. But you also tilt when you should withdraw…and that is knightly too”

The man in the white suit is a superb film from the early 1950s, starring Alec Guinness and Jon Greenwood about a maverick scientist who discovers a special type of indestructible cloth, that everyone wants to suppress.
Hilarious, and very highly regarded; directed by Alex McKendrick.
The sound effects, once heard, cannot be forgotten |

I must check the Christmas TV schedules to see if my all-time favourite Xmas movie, The Apartment, is being shown this year.
Jack Lemmon, Shirley Mc, Fred McMurray, and lots of other quality actors; the plot is a complex love story: a schmuck rents out an apartment to his firm's managers, but falls in love with a lift dolly, after she attptz to end her life in his flat.
Highly controversial in 1960, due to its content about managerial adultery and fornucation.
Filmed in monochrome and masterfully directed by Billy Wilder, who was a refugee from the Nazis. |
