I do enjoy Porridge. I have a predilection for porridge. I love the warming versatility of the oats, bathing in a bowl of warm milk, frolic'ing flavours of every conceivable taste and aroma: cinnamon, smoked whisky, berries, banana, compote, honey or maple syrup, and cinnamon!
Join me and pay homage to Porridge! More so now with the autumnal days fast approaching and we yearn for some health-conscious morning nourishment.
This gentleman loves porridge.
Did I ever parley about porridge?
I have now. |

I used to hate porridge, being a Ready-Brek girl all the way. My cholesterol was coming in a little high, and I was suggested to have porridge for lunch every day to lower it.
My husband made some for me the way he always had it, and I love the stuff now. I get bored eating the same thing very easily, but have been having porridge daily for about two months and STILL look forward to it. |

Oh dear me I love porridge.
I prefer jumbo oats rather than rolled oats.
I like overnight oats during the summer but this year I was far too lazy to be so prepared in advance.
I enjoy porridge with a dusting of sugar, or with fruit (minus sugar) - banana, berries etc. Honey is also very nice as a sweet alternative. I have even had some jam.
I like porridge hot and creamy, although we use skimmed milk majority of the time but on special occasions we use full fat/semi skimmed milk and it tastes rather luxurious then. To totally push the boat out add a drizzle of cream

Love porridge, though has to be jumbo oats. I generally either have it with frozen berries, vanilla extract and chia seeds. Or if I'm organised, carrot cake oats, with grated carrots, pecan nuts, mixed spice and chia seeds.
I do make Jamie Oliver's granola dust to add to plain yogurt and fruit if I'm in a rush in the morning.
Though I'm having a phase of making porridge pancakes with instant oats which everyone in the house likes.
I'm now mega hungry

Bøø, I had it once in a lovely hotel on the Isle of Wight. Subtle flavour and served with heather honey.
And I don't even like Whisky! "
You're totally not selling it I'm afraid..... |

Porridge 5 days a week here, love it, soak my oats overnight in milk and it’s ready to go in the morning with a sprinkle of cinnamon, a few cranberries and sultanas and a swirl of honey once cooked and it’s thick enough to stand my spoon up in it |

Porridge made with jumbo oats, oat milk, a pinch of salt and a sprinkling of erythritol (don't do sugar) is a hug in a bowl. Topped with apple slices fried in olive oil, lime juice and cinnamon it becomes a veritable mouthgasm. |

"Occasionally I'll have some berries or banana in porridge, but mainly I just like it straight up, nothing added. I never get bored of it. "

I call that 'puritanical porridge', which I can eat for a few days, before it becomes mundane. That's why I need to add something to it, such as Cinnamon or berries. |

On this subject, my little rolled oat, we will have to agree to differ. I loathe the stuff. |

I have been called many things in my life - from the good, the bad and the indifferent. However, "little rolled oat" is a new one on me!
In the spirit of Ulysses I shall interpret this as a term of endearment! |
