Fur Free King

Reports from a group called PETA which is a group for the ethical treatment of animals has asked King Charles not to wear real ermine fur on his coronation robes. They have offered to put on fake fur for free. The fake fur is said to be made from corn. Now Tom is no prude but surely the ermine robes are already dead in that no animals will be killed in the coronation apart from the animals for the feast. Would these animal rights types be better campaigning for a meat free feast?

It's all over the news ..

They should sod off and stroke their gerbils.

The robes are as old as the crown. Those mini died centuries ago. Let them keep his neck warm.

You are correct the animals have already died so it may show more respect to continue using the ermine for as long as possible? To get maximum utility from their skins.

The PETA stance is, however, an excellent way for them to publicise their message.

I am, for the record, against the killing of animals purely for adornment purposes.
