When decorating your house at Christmas,.....
Jump to: Newest in thread
Do you keep the decorations minimal or go full out all over the house? Do you have have them in the same places as before or have a change each year?
I like to go full on and have decorations all over the house so it looks nice and busy. I sometimes would look up photos I've posted on Facebook of my decorations from a previous Christmas so that it helps me remember what goes where. |

I just decorate my living room. As much as I love the run up, prep and Christmas day itself, it's a lot of ornamental stuff to store for 11+ months of the year as it is. |

"I don't decorate my house for Christmas "
Nor do I. I really don't get the appeal of covering the house in lights abd tinsel. I don't particularly like Christmas anyway except for the week off work so I can take it easier. |

I dont really bother. Can't be arsed for just me. I have to rearrange my entire lounge to fit a tree in, so tend to just put one string of lights up if I manage to get in the loft to find them
Probably makes me sound a bit of a humbug but I can't see the point when I'm on my own and santa doesn't visit any more. |

Small will have a small tree in their room here and at nanas
There will be 2 beaded (former) card trees on the tea trolley, standing on a tree skirt my mum bought when I was younger than my Small is now. There will also be window stickers (should Small wish) and a light projector
Personally, I loathe the time of year - utterly detest it - but will show willing
I'm also helping at a local food bank on the big day |

I will set up my Yule altar and put a Yule log (wood not chocolate) in my living room window.
Currently making fruit and nut fat balls and a wreath to hang on my tree for the birds and I will make winter wreath of evergreen and dried fruits for the front door. |

We have the tree in the corner and some decorations scattered around the room. But my house is so cluttered that I can't really make it look that nice. Hopefully once we get a bigger place it will be better |

I only put up a Xmas tree now and maybe some fairy lights in the window.
Kids are grown up, so the magic has gone out of it for me. If there were grandkids then it would be different.
Tree will be going up the weevefore Xmas and down on the 27th Dec.

It’s just me & dog now, so no decorations…
Family is spread around the country so if there’s any get togethers, I’m usually invited round to one of their places (unless I’d rather have a quiet one)
Christmas isn’t a massive thing tbh, Dad was a vicar so it was always a hugely busy time for him & he’d be exhausted on the actual day, and then 20 years managing hotels meant Christmas party season & the actual day itself were just normal working days… keeping everyone else happy kind of took the gloss off the occasion for me |

Used to be much more full on, 2 trees indoors and one outside. We didn't have a tree indoors last year, well, we tried but the puppy was a pain with it so it ended up on the front grass. A waste of £50!
Actually I'm lying, I have a very slim 5ft one that goes on my kitchen worktop
I have loads of decorations that I've accumulated over the years, can't wait to get them out! |

Same place regarding the Tree (Lounge). Also have various lights dotted around and a place for the cards. Tinsel around pictures and smaller tree in dining room. I get new batteries for the electric 'flickering' candles. |

Minimal - tree in the living room though not traditional decorations or any of that fancy stuff that folk seem to do on social media, and some lights and candles for in the evenings scattered around the house. Makes it feel all warm and cosy in the winter with the blankets out. Though I use the lights and candles through all of winter till Spring, the tree just gets put up for xmas and comes down after. |

I go totally OTT. I have have a flashing T-Rex in a Santa hat in the window and a piece of tinsel on one of the house plants. I look forward to Boxing Day so I can put it all back in the loft and return to normality |
