So, this Wednesday marks 22 years since I left my husband and started a new life.
Things were not great between us and I found solace in music to help me through the rough times.
What songs have you adopted as milestone anthems of your life.
Negative or positive, feel free to share songs, post links and explain the songs significance.
I'll start the ball rolling with my bad marriage medley...

Linkin Park- one step closer
I would scream this inside my head on a daily basis 22 years ago. |

"I have a couple ... The first is You've made it this far by Asking Alexandria, and lately 3 days Grace's version of Somebody that I used to know is really resonating with me..."
I think the lyrics of "somebody that I used to know" would resonate with a fair few of us. I find it fascinating how we go from being someones everything to nothing over time. Thanks for sharing

Oh Wow...............milestone music.
For me it was and forever will be "Can't Hurry Love" by the Supremes played at my wedding in 1989. Then played again at the funeral of my wife in 2010, only on that occasion by Phil Collins because both of us had come to love his version much more by then. |

Sounds like the perfect song for you both. I like that you have different versions for different stages of your relationship. The song grew and evolved with you x |

"Dog days are over by Florence and the Machine. It really did mean my entire awakening to being me "
I think the line "you can't carry it with you if youbwant to survive" is very powerful. Great choice of song x |

It’s one of my favourite lines ever in a song. And thank you. It sums it up for me |

Florence certainly has a way of enchanting the soul. Her voice most certainly helps. |
