Every single thread regardless of topic closes once it gets to 175 posts. I have seen some get to 185 but that is people are already typing before the post closes. All kinds of threads reach 175. |

"Just for you OP, in order to indulge you, we shall endeavour to make ²°° posts for this thread. You lucky fellow. "
i wasnt looking for the longest thread, just curiosity having seen how quickly one thread was closed and others seemed to take a while, even with higher number of posts.
i wondered, if it was a moderator thing where they stepped in before it got to far out of hand |

Some of them are made unnecessarily long by constant re-quoting of already long previous comments plus all the replies thereto.
This can be obviated by draconian editing by follow up posters which, if carried out sensibly, does not alter the sense of previous posts. It just saves us from having to read the same thing over and over again.
To set an arbitrary cut off of, say 175 posts makes a nonsense of of the the term '...got too long'.
Only a word count can define 'too long'. |

Who's to say an opinion is wrong? Because it's not a popular opinion? |
