Surly the traffic can still go under the gantry. Surly by stopping the traffic it's the police causing the problem.

hiding from cock pics.

I'm not completely sure but I think it might be if they fall onto the road therefore, they can't really allowed traffic to pass underneath.

Health and safety, if they fall, if they distract drivers etc.

For the same reason as when a ‘jumper’ goes up, it’s incase they fall/jump into traffic which can then cause huge secondary accidents/fatalities. Not to mention all those that would crash due to rubber knocking at them.

Also when the emergency services go up to get them they don’t want to fall into moving traffic either.

Plus if they did fall on the road and got hit who would really want to clean what remains up?

PS I am massively against what they are doing and have no sympathy for them but just wouldn’t want to be the one cleaning up after them.

Because the police have a duty of care to everyone, even people you don’t agree with.

It doesn’t even matter if they’ve put themselves in danger too, if you crash your own car the rozzers aren’t allowed to say “Sorry mate, tough luck”

Travelling

After being delayed in 11 hours of M25 traffic this week alone I’d tend to agree. However someone falling off, landing on a car potentially causes a major fatality list and also as much as an annoyance it has been I wouldn’t want to splatter a pedestrian with my car at 70mph over a bit of inconvenience and I don’t think many other road users would either.

They might fall onto a passing vehicle and cause injury to the driver and any passengers

That’s why I said they shut the road for any of those situations

But they don't want to jump?

And as far as I am aware not one has fallen as yet. So the risk of them falling is minimal. I'd just leave them to it WINTER IS COMING.

A crusty tree hugger falling through your windscreen whilst you are doing 70mph could ruin your day, and your windscreen.

Craggy Island

They're a a hazard to oncoming traffic if they fall into the road as cars would swerved to avoid them.

It not so much about one dead protester it about the family in the car that get flattened by the HGV behind it.

They're just a bunch of ignorant Tarquins.

Not sure if the glue works, when it is that wet.
