On my single profile I preferred to send the first message, so I did. Lots of times. Mostly to single men, occasionally couples, and very very occasionally to women. I'm very shy about approaching women for some silly reason

Yes I did. To the person that I thought was the hottest man on fabs. I asked if I booked a hotel for a specific day would he like to celebrate my 20 year anniversary of leaving my husband.
He said yes, I booked it. He turned up on time and we had an amazing afternoon. I would message more people first if they had face photos. It's awkward iniating messages only to find out you don't actually fancy them when u see the face. |

I would think that only women that have messaged first will say on here, the masses that haven't won't answer the question. I expect if I had a gym fit body, model looks. A dick like a cucumber and drove around in a Lambo, i expect I would get messages from some of the lovley women on here, I haven't so I don't! Lol |

I’ve sent a few messages and got a nice no thanks or yes let’s chat and see where we get…
But sometimes it feels like women who do that are portrayed as desperate.
I wonder what men think about a woman texting for the first time asking to meet at the drop of a hat. The exact same way men do constantly on here. It does feel like it’s unacceptable or we aren’t allowed to do that. |

Absolutely but not very often. I message if I find an interesting profile, and while I do look at pictures, it is the profile content that will make me message.
Sometimes with the view to hopefully getting a positive response and we end up meeting but also sometimes just to compliment somebody on a well-presented profile. (not enough of them around, too many one liners and "fill in later") |

Considering some men don't send the first message due to it not being seen under a barrage of others, it would be cool if women did send the first message a bit more.
I've been lucky where the women and couples I'm regularly in touch with have sent the first message as I didn't due to the reason above |
