Controversial opinion, but(!) I think pretty much all of the “British” puddings are disgusting… or am I misinterpreting the title?
If it is about puddings from this country and if we are counting crumbles as British then I’d go with apple & blackberry or apple & loganberry crumble with ice cream or double cream.
However, I recognise I am dull - I love ice cream, that’s my go-to. |

"Rhubarb crumble & custard. Not one of those dinky, 1 swallow jugs, that you get in most restaurants though. Has to be lashings of the yellow stuff!"
I agree that they don't give you enough custard in restaurants sometimes.... |

"Jam Roly Poly with piping høt Bourbon Vanilla custard. It was a favourite of the ex-wife. †
But I love Sherry Trifle, with guilt-free lashings of Amontillado Sherry. "
I hope you don't drive brother Nero after eating one of those trifles!.

Bread and Butter Pudding but it has to be that school lunch version...the expired bread with the slight burn to the crust, raisins that are more like small pebbles than dried fruits, Bird's Eye custard....the whole works.
It simply doesn't work when it's made with fancy ingredients and vanilla pod fresh cream custard, blah, blah, blah. There's such a thing as being too refined.
Oh, and Cambridge Burnt Cream. |

"I do love sherry trifle… but my go to pudding would have to be bread and butter pudding… proper comfort food
When was the last time you had bread and butter pudding?.... "
Two weeks ago!
My mum made me one

Using the traditional sense of the word pudding, then I can’t pick one as three have their time depending on the season
Christmas pudding
Sticky toffee pudding - autumn / winter
Queen of puddings - spring / summer |

I don't, Brôther Åsh †. I take my carriages via Uber. Or, if it's a date, I just walk steadfastly to the hotel room. |

Hmm, that's a tough one.
I made myself a delicious cake the other day, but Almond Pivithier is traditionally a French dish and so doesn't qualify.
Was lovely though.
I do love a good cheesecake though |

If it’s got to be a British pudding, definitely crumble and custard, pear, rhubarb or apple and blackberry.
If I can choose others, panna cotta or crème brûlée. |

Sorry French dishes don't qualify on this thread...
Do you have a favourite cheesecake?... |

"Bread and butter pudding reminds me college days.
Was that your favourite pudding back in your college days?...."
Yes it was what they used to serve in the canteen most days and it seemed like I could eat as much as I wanted at the time without putting any weight on |

"I like all the puddings.
You like Yorkshire puddings "
I've just popped a toad in the hole into the oven. I used Delia's Yorkshire pudding recipe. At the end of the recipe (in Delia's winter collection) she notes that her grandmother used to give her left over Yorkshire pudding drizzled with honey as a desert. |
