any employment that makes you so agitated and anzious of going into work is not worth working for.
Well done - get to an agency though asap and start hunting around
good luck and youll be better for it no doubt at all |

Impetuous? or Positive attitude?

Sounds like both impetuous but done with a positive attitude. Onwards and upwards life is too short to spend it doing things which make you angry. |

Still at work .. have to work out one months notice unfortunately.
Just applied for another job
I think it's what I needed to get me out of here.
Yes onwards and upwards ... more learning ahead and a brill beginning to 2013! |

I'd have gone somewhere to calm down and think before I handed my notice in, the jobs market is always really tough around this time of year and won't get better till end of Feb / march .
Any job is better than no job . |

True but OP says there's a month's notice period. Time for second thoughts perhaps? |

I do not know your circumstances ,how long you have been employed there etc but i suggest you ring ACAS asap for some advice ,especially if you have been bullied or harassed in anyway.I will say though your mental health is more important than anything, but if you have have been there any length of time you have certain laws which protect you ,i personally would seek advice asap and if necessary retract your resignation until you have taken that advice.

Don't count on the other job yet until it is offered to you. Apply to a few more jobs just to be safe. Then you can choose the best for you if they all offer. Never enough offers to weigh before taking a new job. |

"Depends on why you handed in your notice, sometimes we all do things when we are angry that we live to regret, how do you feel about it? "
I imagine you’ll only know if you’ve done the right thing once you’ve had time to reflect on the benefits and consequences of your action...
But good luck too you... |

I'll always have a job, funilly enough I was looking last week and found stacks of them which I was more than qualified for, I'm confident that I will find another job before my notice period ends and there's always agency work.
Lucky to be in a career where there will always be jobs. |

Ah still got one month so try to get a new job now before you walk, good luck its no fun being on the dole. It may be too late already for the OP to have second thoughts. |

It's a difficult situation but if it's getting to you THAT much I think you made the right choice. - I stuck by a highly stressful job in the past due to the "any job is better than no job" situation and ended up having an emotional breakdown which lead to deep depression (which I still struggle with now 3 years on), so I would always say your health and well-being HAS to come first.
At least you've got a month to find something else, I would recommend you apply for as many of these jobs as possible though. I had the same attitude as you where I thought "I'm more then qualified/experienced for this job, I'll get it no problem" but it doesn't always work out that way.
May not want to put all of your eggs in one basket.
