So finally caught up with last Series of Peaky Blinders, and what a stinker ! One of my favourite shows too.
Any other Series which have gone up like a rocket and down like a stick ? |

Stargate sg1, what on earth was that about ?
I think pretty much every worst last episode comes from series that didn’t expect to end , like they never wrote an ending because they wanted the series just to go on and on and on.
Something like Babylon 5 always had an ending in mind so that last episode was awesome , they knew where to story was going. |

"Heroes
The Sopranos
How I met your mother
Roseanne (original run)
But the grand prize for worst ending of all time has to go to St Elsewhere, now there’s a dumpster fire of an ending.
"
I thought the final Series of Sopranos was brilliant but the final episode definitely divides opinion. |

I was really disappointed with the last series of Line of Duty. It had been a fabulous watch up to then, it just fizzled out after showing so much promise.
Hopefully Jed Mercurio can be persuaded to right that wrong! |

Titz Towers, North Notts |
Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes and Line of Duty
These all felt like the writer had written themselves into a corner and couldn't think of a clever ending.
Only Fools and Horses - this should have ended with them being millionaires, but instead the episodes after this were universally poor, just treading water. |

That final episode of the soprano’ s wasn’t good….
Actually last episode of breaking bad wasn’t good either!!
The problem with game of thrones wasn’t the episode.. it’s that they squashed it into 6… if the last two series had been the normal 10/11 each, rather than 7 and 6… I don’t think you’d get the complaints!!!!
Everything after 24 series 3… and homeland series 2!!!
Everything after they found the polar bear on the island in lost!!
Shall I keep going??? |

The thing about Lost was that it started really really good. Then got progressively worse, like a lot of tv shows.
But then the producers cleverly revealed that it would end at the end of the next series. So fans like me kept watching to see how it ended. Spoiler.....it ended horribly. |

Game of Thrones is simply the champion of this.
It was the heavyweight, people loved it, a juggernaut of the tv world. It was going so well for 5 seasons. Then it took a bit of a hit for 6 and 7 but held its ground well enough. (the Dorne storyline was the first sign of trouble)
Then the finale season came and it threw the fight.
Never has a show taken a fall from such height of praise as GoT has in such a sudden decline.
Other shows have had bad endings, but not in the same contrast for how good it was leading up to that end. |

JJ Abrams signature trait. Hit them with the mystery boxes to move the story and keep them watching.
The man can just not hit the landing on anything. |

What is an ending anyway?
As long as the show was good, I can't say I'm that bothered about how it ends.
Unless they cancel something and have to shoehorn an ending in.
I'm looking at you, NBC. I've never forgiven you for Quantum Leap. |

Final episode of the Sopranos was frustrating and confusing at the time on first time watch. However looking back it was brilliant |

I think they should have skipped the final episode of Thrones and just left it with Jon and Dany. No one cared who was going to rule afterwards. Especially out of those bunch of boring cunts.
The ending was always going to be meh as they killed off all the best characters. Thrones was more about the journey than the destination. |

Game of Thrones.
I didn't so much mind what happened, but it was very rushed and nothing like the earlier seasons in terms of quality.
And The Walking Dead. Now fair enough I haven't finished it, but the earlier seasons were absolutely immense and beautiful and they fucking ruined it. Now it's like a shitty TV soap opera full of awful acting and ridiculous storylines. |

That dark night episode had me messing with the brightness on my telly and I still couldn’t see a thing.

Maybe it shouldn’t had ended
Maybe it should be left with open end
Or no end . Just cut it as it rolls … and leave the fans to their imagination .

The endings of both One Foot In The Grave and Inspector Morse, to my mind, didn't work.
They were brave attempts at being emotional and bitter-sweet by killing the main protagonists but both endings - otherwise absolutely brilliant shows - came across as clunky. There were not necessary.
PS - Those choosing The Sopranos ending haven't studied the final series close enough. The clues are ALL in there!!! |

Stargate Universe.... Ughhh
Lost....ughhhh
Jericho....
Angel..... Wtaf.
Loads of my favourite shows cancelled. It leads them to either try and wrap up or just leave us hanging.
Oh Firefly....
I'm going to stop. It's too painful. |

Fully agree on all this. Killing Victor and Morse were both home goals.
The Sopranos ending is in hindsight utter genius. |

I tend to agree. So many Series end badly because the Creators want to wrap up the loose ends or have a big dramatic closure. The Sopranos avoided all this by leaving everything open to interpretation. |

Not seeing any suggestions on what would have been a better ending for these shows.
One man's meat is another man's poison.
It's what the writers wanted, it's their choice and probably a very hard thing to do.
I have nowhere near any of their talents so wouldn't criticise their craft. |

Ooh I understand the Derry girls ending but I didn’t like both either… you knew they couldn’t end on happiness in the times of the troubles, so rather than killing off someone that way this was more palatable so to speak! And my biggest gripe is they left so many storylines open that they could make another series, but she is adamant they won’t!!
The answer would have been a Xmas special to wrap it up |

Yes I agree the last series of Line of Duty fell apart for me. Not so suspenseful.
Prisoners was the weirdest thing ever don’t remember an ending . |
