Evening everyone. I didn't get furlough on the buses but the place I work now did .They were off for 7 months they said it was fantastic. But also what was funny was the mad panic for loo rolls and pasta. Crazy times.

I could absolutely handle a dose of furlough

Although it would probably be better in spring / summer rather then right now

Definitely as first one was great for me as I had torn a bicep and ripped a tendon in my right arm and was on sick pay so not a lot . Furlough came along and they put me on full pay . Enjoyed the rest and recovering time x

I enjoyed it for a while but got made redundant for the first time in my life after 6 months of it so I'd rather not repeat that.

No furlough for me. I just worked from home. Still am. Only have to go in to the office once a month. It's a lot easier now all the kids are in school, it wasn't any fun trying to work with them here.

Ooh yes please. We split the team in two and did half n half, furlough and work. The work stint was great as the place was a ghost town.

I went from working 80/90 hr weeks to 5 weeks of furlough. First couple of weeks I was bored then got into the swing of things and was kinda sad had to go back to work. I would not want another spell though as I was only paid for basic hrs and not overtime so was losing a grand a week.

I worked through the original one and would work through any subsequent ones.

So I don’t fancy being taxed further to pay for your holidays

I didn't get furlough last time but I did get to skip the queue at Tesco at the end of an 11 hour shift and a discount key worker deal on a hotel during the little of my annual leave that wasn't cancelled so I guess that's something. I would very much appreciate a break right now as I'm still physically recovering.

I'm self employed, and didn't receive a penny of financial aid during the entire lockdown period, but made the best of what I could, and got through it. I would not enjoy another episode like it, and certainly not so soon

No no no.

Lockdowns nearly made me suicidal. It was that bad. Losing my job was the most horrible thing.

Give me my freedom anytime over money to sit on my arse. I wasn’t made to stay at home.

Furlough and all the lockdown measures have bankrupted this country - I don't think we can afford to go down that road again

The country could never afford it we are struggling to pay what we borrowed last time and i think they are going to really tighten the countrys spending for the forseable future. Not to mention how it broke supply lines and put immense pressure on all of us trying to work through it.

"Furlough and all the lockdown measures have bankrupted this country"

I think there’s a bit more to it. Global economy tanking. Wars. Brexit. Mismanagement.

If anything Furlough proved how much of an illusion the whole economy is. It’s smoke and mirrors.

Our bosses had some meeting with officials in downing Street and came back with the answer "you lot are essential so will carry on working then sent all the office staff home to work from there

Bought a rake of new laptops for everyone and office chairs and 18 months later some of them still won't come back

Couldn't get hold of anyone working from home and when we did got told "oh I'll do that shortly I'm just out walking in the sunshine". ???? Working from home my arse.

No! No way. I was furloughed and I hated it. First off I lost the majority of my pay because my work didn’t top up the difference.

Secondly I felt guilty for taking public funds and it also really irritated me thinking of all the debt that was wracking up from all of us on furlough.

Thirdly I sort of felt lost. It wasn’t like a holiday. It was months of being locked in a house with nothing to do and feeling sort of useless.

Really annoyed me when people were pushing for it to be extended

I was jealous until “we” immediately made them all redundant when furlough ended.

We worked throughout the pandemic but the short staffing we now have as a result? I'm so fucking stressed at work that I'd happily be furloughed, if it was offered. One person can't carry on doing what I'm doing and still function properly.

Same at our place! We had to be in every day while the office staff sat on their arse at home. 'Working from home' yet never doing anything. They still do sod all.
