Will people be cutting back on the amount of lights they have on this year?
Admittedly we are very minimal anyway, mainly due to me(Mr) being a miserable old Grinch and disliking Christmas.
Jools would have the house lit up like the Griswold's if she had her way so a compromise is always reached.
However this year I think that one tree with lights is sufficient she doesn't need two! |

I was having this conversation earlier funnily enough, I think we’ll see less this year, or they’ll go up later on (nearer the big day rather than early December) or for fewer hours to keep costs down.
The pressure to please the kids will mean there will still be plenty, but scaled back. |

We didn't have a tree last year due to getting a kitten earlier in the year, had it up for all of about 12 hours and decided to take it down, we had some up but didn't have them on for long.
Not sure this year, might get some battery ones x |

I currently have two sets up in my lounge, had them on for the first time today.
Next week or the week after I'll put my tree up and there are two sets of lights on that.
Same lights I always have, turned on at the same time I always do.
I do think there will be fewer spectacular houses with millions of lights this year. |

My little tree lights are battery operated so they won't make a difference.
I was thinking of buying a mains operated light decoration for my living room window cill.
That won't cost much and I'll turn the lamp off. |
