Ever been accused of "not being real"?

Couple months back had a message from a singleton, usual high, how you doing, responded politely saying very well thanks. That was followed up by can I come to yours tonight? Which we politely declined.
Then we had a stream of messages stating we weren't "real" as we declined the kind invitation to visit. Being bored on the commute home we actually had a ping pong dialogue explained that the sites not a knocking shop where you think anyone with a profile will fuck you because you asked?
Finished with "you're both fake & should be kicked off FAB!" All biazzare, bearing in mind we have plenty of history on here but our individual was convinced it was all fake.
Anyone else suffered similar where people spiral their dummies our if you say no thanks? |

I think it's easier for them to believe you're fake ,instead of that you don't want to meet them op.
Some are properly entitled and think a reply means they are in ,years ago I answered a message and later when I said no to ta meeting he asked why I'd replied ?!. |

Yep, on my Nell profile. It was on a forum thread too, so all very public. The guy in question thought I was a bloke and that I'd stol*n my own pics. He was very sweet and apologetic when I dm'd him and proved I was me by mentioning things we'd discussed im private in previous years. |

We are always polite, 99/100 messages reply, that particular day just say on train for commute home together, with nothing else to do entered into a dialogue to try and understand their logic, well at least u till it was our stop!  |

I suppose ultimately I don't believe most people online are real.
I am on other platforms and I rarely believe that the person messaging me is what they say they are.
Here it's different. People have profiles and verifications and distinct personalities. I don't care if the profile posting on a thread is a dude or a chick or a dude pretending to be a better version of themselves or a chick pretending to be 10 years younger.
If things progress to a different stage of familiarity then maybe "reality" becomes important.
Also it's just occurred to me that fake profiles might be profiles who have no interest in meeting and are *just* here to be time wasters. Which might be just a blind spot to me. Maybe that's how other people have always seen it.
If so we need a face plant emoji inserted here |

Yes had it a couple of times from men I've never even spoken to, they just msg me to tell me I'm fake really a man and they were blocking me, don't understand the need to tell me they are blocking me as I had no clue who they were in the first place. |

Usually from people with no pictures or just multiple cock shots. They mostly have no verifications despite being her for ages, and often the profile info is scant.
Interestingly, it's usually when I ask them to explain which part of 'not seeking men' they didn't think applied to them.  |

You've been on here long enough to know that's just something people say when knocked back. It is obvious from a quick glance at your account that ye are a real account. So I really don't know why it would bother you that some random person calls you fake. Especially still after a few months.
I've been called it a few times do I give a damn ...nope not at all.It usually comes from people and couples who think you should drop everything to meet them.Or because I won't do sex talk,send pics on demand or give them my phone number. I couldn't care less if they think I am a fake because of it. Because they are not people I would want to meet or interact anymore with anyhow. And the fact they showed their attitude stinks is the equivalent of the rubbish taking itself out. |

Yes, we had a single woman messaging and saying she thought I (Luke) was a fantasist and that Hannah either didn't exist or had no interest in being on this scene with me. The verifications and photos didn't mean anything to her as they could be faked.
I repeatedly asked her what evidence she had that's what was actually happening and she would never admit that she didn't have any. It was all very strange. It was the only time that Hannah said we should block somebody. |

As someone that's been in that position, I think some of it stems from the bad eggs on sites like this and dating sites, they give you a bit of self disbelief in the back of your mind and so become wary when you're messaged by someone you wouldn't think would be interested in you

Its a double edged thing. I've certainly come across fakes on here - solo men pretending to be a couple or solo men pretending just to be a woman. So I get why many are cautious as been burnt and scolded too many times in the past.
But it can be a lashing out reaction too to yet another NO or yet another rejection etc... |

This used to happen to me all the time to me. It wasn't until I was verified by c.25 people that guys stopped asking me if I was real. Now it's the hot guys saying that they don't get rejected/ people refuse to meet them because the other party thinks they are fake! |

All the time. Guys don’t like being turned down and couples are sometimes worse.
We are looking for a handful of people to meet now and again but, apparently, not being ready to go now, for anybody, means that we aren’t real. The irony is, the people rejected are happy to overlook their objections until they can’t get their end away. |

I have had it in all the various forms …. Fake , time waster etc.
I give people one chance at being reasonable and I explain my situation, if they continue to be silly about it all. I block them.
If they are abusive I block and report! |

Another thing that some people don't realize is that some of us meet people on a regular basis without the need to verify one another, especially when it's people we have mets dozens of times and who may not be members of this site anymore!
