Gateway to the Beacons

If you are feeling a bit down, what are your go-to acts of well-being and self-care?

Listen to music? bath? read a book?

For me its meditation or cold water.

Calderdale innit

A nice bubbly bath, a good book or spending time with the pets usually makes me feel better .

A form of exercise whether that be a dog walk, run or gym visit

Wirral

Chat to mates, read a book, take a cup of tea down to the shore and watch the waves (go for a paddle if it's warm enough and I can't see sewage floating).

Watch something cosy and comforting on the telly where the good guys catch the bad guys and the hero ends up finding the love of their life.

Go for a walk away from people and just focus on the sights, sounds and smells of nature.

Watch the stars at night and think about how insignificant I am in the majesty of the universe around me.

Stuff myself so full of chocolate it numbs the feelings (not a particularly healthy coping mechanism but one I go for with alarming regularity).

Most of all treat myself kindly and with compassion in the knowledge the bleakness will pass.

I like to go for a long run, easy distraction when you thinking things over. And I always feel a lot less stressed afterwards
